Notably, Rosanne Foust has worked tirelessly on the electrification of Caltrain, in conjunction with the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSR).
- 3. Created in 1996, the California High-Speed Rail Authority is dedicated to building a system that will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in less than three hours. With three bond measures totaling about $20 billion approved since 2002, construction has begun on a high-speed rail system in Californias Central Valley and more than a dozen related projects throughout the state. Focused on sustainability and renewable energy, the high-speed rail system is being planned to minimize the impact on wildlife corridors and other natural habitats, and to combat urban sprawl whenever possible. Eventually, the CHSR hopes to have up to 24 stations on the line from Sacramento to San Diego.
