This document outlines the key steps and concepts in conducting an economic analysis of projects from an ADB perspective. It discusses that economic analysis goes beyond just financial calculations to select and design good projects. It also differentiates economic analysis from financial analysis by looking at broader economy-wide impacts rather than just the project entity. The document then lists the main steps in project economic analysis including assessing macroeconomic context, sector analysis, rationale for public involvement, alternative analysis, valuation of costs and benefits, financial sustainability, distributional impacts, and risk analysis. It emphasizes that projects need to be designed based on demand and that the proposed alternative should be the least-cost option.

The benefits of reflective practice and eportfolio based learning are widely acknowledged in the literature, however, little work has evaluated its impact vis--vis a Culinary Arts curriculum. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore third year BA Culinary and Gastronomic Science student experiences of developing a reflective practice eportfolio at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. A mixed method approach, using convenience sampling was implemented. Semi-structured interviews were held with experts in the field of eportfolio based learning and reflective practice in Ireland. Participants were voluntarily surveyed, to gather information on their experiences of developing a reflective practice eportfolio. The results highlighted tangible opportunities and barriers for undertaking a reflective practice eportfolio for the participants. Eportfolio based learning is rooted in a complex pedagogy, and its potential can only be realised if the processes underlying reflective practice are properly understood by all stakeholders. Its imperative that the purpose of the reflective practice eportfolio is clearly defined, requirements are communicated, digital capabilities are measured. and training is delivered, rubrics are created, exemplars are shared, and support is provided, in order for it to be successfully adopted. Positive results depends on successful implementation.

The document provides a report on establishing a community garden on a vacant lot located at 245 Welch Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It discusses operational scenarios, resource requirements, design considerations, construction plans for raised beds, and next steps for implementing a garden. The goal is to utilize the underutilized asset in a way that benefits the local neighborhood by providing a public amenity and encouraging community involvement and investment.
This presentation will give a good overview of the ROPMS concepts and logical framework, however the POP & AWP used do not reflect the final format based on the comments received during the training sessions.
S淡ren Dj淡rup presents on ownership structures, financing, and regulation of district heating systems. He discusses:
1) Current macroeconomic conditions in many countries make developing district heating viable due to low interest rates, available labor, fuel imports, climate and pollution issues.
2) National procedures should identify socioeconomically viable areas for district heating through tools like heat mapping and establish zones where systems can be developed.
3) Regulation must address high capital costs and risks from the company perspective while ensuring consumer acceptance and support for strategic energy planning from a societal perspective.

Concept mapping is a technique rooted in the constructivist theory that learning is an active process that happens through the interaction of experience and new ideas. In the how-to session associated with this paper, attendees learn how to create concept maps as a tool for effective communication in museums both internally and with visitors. Presenters share three examples of how they used concept mapping in the development of digital projects, collaboratively create a concept map to demonstrate process and benefit, and lead a concept mapping session.
Objectives of the session include that participants learn how to create and facilitate a collective concept-mapping experience. Participants reflect collectively on the value and application of concept mapping as a way to see a familiar idea sideways, from new perspectives and depths; visualize thinking; identify common ground across collaborators; and collect, organize, and share ideas. Participants also brainstorm and explore possible internal/external applications.

Brief History
油Africa is the 'cradle of humankind', the place where the first human beings lived 5 to 10 million years ago.
Fossils found in Africa, show that the modern human beings spread from this continent. One of the earliest evidences of human life were found in South Africa.
Many powerful kingdoms existed on the African continent in the early history and the Middle Ages.
Between the 5th and 15th century, African slaves were traded mainly by Arab traders.
In the late 19th century Europeans started conquering Africa which was then colonised in the 19th and 20th century mainly from Britain and France, but also from the Dutch, Italian and Germans.
Historic places hold the stories of our past, are an important part of building community, and create connections between who we were and who we aspire to be. But how effective is the work of preservation if the next generation doesn't understand the value and significance of these places to our present moment? How do we ignite a passion for history and culture, sparking a lifelong affinity and understanding of the power of place along the way?

The war in Ukraine has led to significant destruction of cultural heritage, including historic landmarks, museums, libraries, and religious sites. Russian attacks have damaged or destroyed hundreds of cultural institutions, including the Mariupol Drama Theater, the Kharkiv Art Museum, and the Skovoroda Museum. Many artifacts have been looted, archives lost, and artistic communities displaced. This destruction is not just collateral damageit is often intentional, aimed at erasing Ukrainian identity and history. Despite this, Ukraine continues efforts to preserve and document its cultural heritage, using digital archives, reconstruction projects, and international support.

Article review by Liben Tsegaye |PhD student in DRMD , AAU|EGCDWO

This article review critically assesses a study on the decentralization of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in Ethiopia, focusing on the Oromia region. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the article's methodology, findings, and policy implications, as well as to offer recommendations for further research. The method for the review was content and comparative analysis. The article employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative content analysis and quantitative statistical tools such as STATA version 14 to analyze data from government representatives. Major findings reveal that while decentralization of DRM is better understood at higher administrative levels, its effectiveness is limited due to challenges in training, technology, collaboration, and local capacity. The article highlights that administrative decentralization is more effective than fiscal or political decentralization. However, the research has notable weaknesses, including a limited sample size and reliance on participants' opinions rather than objective indicators measurement, leading to superficial findings. The review suggests that the research methodology could be improved with secondary data and a case study approach to gain a more comprehensive understanding of DRM decentralization. Recommendations for further research are made, emphasizing the need for a more robust analysis and actionable policy guidance.
