Enterprise Business Architecture in Practice -- Leveraging EBA for Success on...SteveMelville
?
Pragmatic recommendations for leveraging Enterprise Business Architecture (EBA) to avoid common pitfalls of ERP/CRM projects. While there is ample literature on the theory and concepts of Enterprise Business Architecture, this talk distills recommendations gleaned from actually having tried to apply EBA on Sun Microsystems "IBIS" project. This multi-year, multi-deployment program impacted more than 250 business processes spanning virtually all of Sun\'s core value streams: Concept-to-Offering, Campaign-to-Sales Order, Order-to-Cash, Supply Chain Plan-to-Stock, Issue-to-Resolution, and Financial Accounting-to-Reporting. It targeted more than 50% of Sun\'s entire application portfolio for replacement. The presentation describes how EBA can be leveraged to avoid the cost overruns, schedule slips, and missed business expectations that are often encountered on ERP/CRM implementation efforts.

This document discusses how IT processes will become more digital and mobile in the next 3 years. It notes limitations of current IT tools including a lack of understanding, limited scope, and difficulty of use. The pain of delayed functionality is rated as critical by 85% of businesses. Automation is needed for resilient and agile business processes that span applications and infrastructure. Fewer, more integrated tools will be required to automate processes across the application lifecycle, service delivery, and resolution of issues. Intelligent closed-loop automation is presented as a solution to coordinate multiple data sources and events to meet service level agreements and business needs.
This document provides an overview of a workshop on cloud native architecture patterns. The workshop will cover cloud native architecture fundamentals, patterns, and "architecture katas" exercises. Key topics that will be discussed include architecting for DevOps, continuous delivery, and exploiting the capabilities of cloud infrastructure. The goal is to understand how architectural decisions can enhance or detract from the ability to practice DevOps and continuous delivery on cloud platforms.
This document discusses the need for aerospace and defense companies to adopt a model-based enterprise (MBE) approach to address challenges with program execution. It outlines three key motivating factors driving this need: 1) increased program complexity is causing cost growth and schedule delays, 2) program development plans often miss targets for cost, schedule, and capabilities, and 3) more design and manufacturing operations are being outsourced to suppliers. The document argues that an MBE approach, which leverages connected descriptive and computational models throughout the program lifecycle, can help stakeholders better manage information and make real-time decisions to improve program execution and performance.
Ext4 was created to overcome limitations of ext2 and ext3 file systems. It supports larger file sizes up to 16TB, larger filesystems up to 1EB, more efficient directories with indexing, extent-based allocation that reduces fragmentation, delayed allocation for better performance, and other features for robustness, flexibility and performance. Ext4 maintains backwards compatibility with ext2/ext3 while improving on their weaknesses.

While social media includes the applications that support the creation and exchange of user generated and participatory content (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010), the focus is commonly on the presentation or actions of users, the networks created on the platforms, and what we can do to promote our various WIIFMs (Whats In It For Me). It is less studied from the perspective of the networks themselves, especially through the influence and role of the non-human elements. Through this inverted perspective much may be learned, especially involving simple assumptions about the role of agency, namely the power to act (Latour, 2013). It is this social aspect of social media where actor-network theory can be most usefully employed, as the agency of things themselves may frequently be overlooked (Adams & Thompson, 2011) when rushing to understand the black box of assumptions present in social media research and practice.

13 ways to make money with Augmented Reality (by @nickdemey @boardofinno)Board of Innovation
?
The document discusses 13 ways to make money with augmented reality. Some of the proposed ideas include becoming a virtual store to sell real goods, selling premium priced products like books, creating art or stories and asking for donations, selling games or experiences at specific locations, offering useful tools via paid subscriptions, and taking commissions on sales or leads generated through augmented reality apps and tools. The document argues that while AR has been mostly experimental so far, there are real opportunities to build business models and generate revenue through various applications of the technology.

Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sourcing, Acquire, and LogisticsRishabh Agarwal
?
The document provides an overview of supply chain management. It discusses key concepts like evolution of SCM, global SCM and logistics, procurement processes, push vs pull systems, and the role of SCM professionals. It also covers newer developments like e-procurement, RFID, and SCM software. The document is a presentation on SCM delivered by an IIM graduate that contains diagrams, definitions, and examples to explain SCM concepts.

It defines cooperation as collaboration between independent companies to increase competitiveness. Vertical cooperation involves different stages of the value chain working together, while horizontal cooperation is between companies in the same industry and stage. Examples discussed include Toyota's supplier relationships and Starbucks' backward integration into coffee farming. Both cooperation and integration are presented as strategic approaches for companies to meet challenges of globalization.
This document lists topics related to entrepreneurship education, including entrepreneurship seminars, developing new products and business models, research methodology, consulting and coaching, case studies of successful entrepreneurs, agriculture product planning and development, agricultural technology research, and 6th industrial revolution strategies. Key areas covered are entrepreneurship mindset, new business creation, research skills, consulting, case studies, agriculture and food ventures, and emerging technologies.
