Responsibilities
For Store Management:
 Maintaining store facilities to ensure smooth functioning – making arrangements and placing
orders for new stock and supplies whenever necessary.
 Responsible for upkeep of various appropriate records of materials received.
 Receiving deliveries of new equipment and ensuring that all the supplies were in proper order –
Stored the suppliesand itemsreceived intheir designatedplace to avoid time wasted searchingfor
items and general confusion.
 Issuing supplies as per the demand of the clients and maintaining records of payments.
 Maintainingthe budget of all the expenditures incurred and presenting the same to manager.
 Analyzing the need/demand of items so that the future orders could be placed accordingly.
 Monitoring the functioning of store equipment and reporting problems.
 Prepare Purchase request & follow up with vendors for prompt delivery.
 Ensuring the proper storage of material as well as carrying out physical stock verification and
reconciliation.
 Ensuring proper documentation/accounting of materials/stores functions (for in-warding of
materials and consumables) and periodical/daily check for variances by conducting stock
verification and updating variances with approval of management.
 Maintaining inwards and outwards ledgers.
 Identified areas of quality failures and took steps to rectify the system.
For Purchase Management:
 Settingup the weekly,monthly, quarterly procurement plan.
 Procurement of material from national and international market.
 Development of alternative local sources for imported materials,which helps in cost saving.
 Planning and budgeting of purchase functions,involving cost estimation,contract
negotiations.
 Inviting and allotting tenders.
 Liaison with the production department to maintain optimum inventory.
 Implementing systems to avoid situations like over-stocking or out-of-stock, which cause
production and financial losses.
 Liaison with finance department for timely payment of bills.
 Developing reports on procurement and usage of material for top management.
For Vendor Development:
 ABC classification of vendors based on criteria like cost, quality, timely delivery etc.
 Development of new vendors.
 Conducting Meetings for vendors to educate themabout company’s requirements.
 Evaluating vendors & negotiating the price, delivery schedule and terms and conditions with
them.
 Timely clearance of payments & handling vendor inquiries.
