What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Through constructing this product, the author learned several new technologies. They had to learn how to use a camera properly, focus it manually or use automatic focus. They also learned how to use Photoshop through trial and error to edit photos. Additionally, they became familiar with Mac computers and their temperamental nature. The author learned lighting techniques like using umbrellas and backdrops to achieve different lighting effects. Finally, they figured out how to create a blog and use platforms like 際際滷share and Prezi to showcase their work in a visually interesting way beyond just text.

- 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. Through the process of constructing this product I have learnt how to do many different things and used different pieces of technology that I hadnt used before. I hadnt used a proper camera before and I had to learn that different cameras worked in different ways so some you had to focus yourself other wise the image would go fuzzy and wouldnt be good to use, and others did it automatically so you didnt have to worry about the focus you could concentrate on weather everything was in the right place.
- 3. I had also never used Photoshop before so I had to learn from others and teach myself how to use it which took a lot of trial and error and experimenting with the different tools and effects. Even when it got really frustrating I knew that I had to just keep powering on and find out how to do something and when I did work it out it would feel like an achievement!
- 4. The macs were also something new that I had used a little bit before but not too much, and they were different to what I had used before and their temperamental nature took a while to get used to.
- 5. Another aspect that I used and had to learn how to do so was lighting and lighting rigs with umbrellas and a backdrop. Making sure the light was shining in the right way to give the right effect so bright lighting to make it look like it was outside, or lighting that didnt blind my model but got enough light on her face. Also ensuring that they were out of shot.
- 6. To show my work and the stages of my work, and also progress on my blog I needed to figure out how to make a blog and make posts and find different ways so show my work that was interesting in not just lots of block text by using things like 際際滷share, Prezi and Photopeach
- 7. I also learnt how to create a scene that included all of the mise en scene elements that I needed to create the right set through considering all of the scene and how to make it look how I wanted and fitting with my genre.
