Yalarad Campaign Setting
Welcome from the Author
Welcome to Yalarad.
Yalarad is a fantasy world for use with Dungeons &
Dragons or any role-playing game that requires a
suitable location in which players can exist. Because
I typically play semi-sandbox campaigns where the
player characters (PCs) have a large amount of
latitude I find that I need to have background
knowledge at my fingertips.
There is a companion document with this map set,
the Yalarad Census. This document contains:
 City names & pronounciation
 Type & location
 Major economic drivers
 Population
 Farmland estimate
 Deforestation estimate
 Trades estimates
This document is a scale change map set that
takes a full continent at ~200 miles per hex (actual
196) and divides it by 7 to get 28 miles per hex. This
smaller scale is excellent for cross-country travel as
the Dungeon Master can decide that an efficient
team on a road can travel 28 miles or a group on
foot can only travel 14.
Another scale change down to 4 miles per hex is
planned but lets be honest here, one change went
from 1:48 and any sufficiently dense map will
require 56 individual maps which totals 2,688 maps.
Thats just not going to happen in the remaining 30
years of my life.
Instead we have included city maps where
appropriate.

Sillil, an Elvish city on the border
with the City States of Queen
Roselain.
The Human side is named Fort
Dorvul and is technically the half
north of the Sillil River. The reality
is that Human influence is
minimal until you get north of the
delta and even then there is a
strong Elf aesthetic in the
buildings until you get the Fort
Dorvul itself.
