Dr. Yonty (Jonathan) Friesem is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Department, Columbia College Chicago and the Associate Director of the Media Education Lab. His work and research in media literacy focus on the opportunities to improve cognitive, social, and emotional skills of students and teachers in formal and informal settings. Yonty explores how media producers can use the power of digital technology to better connect and make a difference in the world. He calls it Digital Empathy.
