This tutorial teaches how to remove image backgrounds in GIMP. It takes the reader through 5 steps: 1) Select the background using the Fuzzy Select Tool, 2) Add an alpha channel for transparency, 3) Delete the selected background, 4) Fix any jagged edges, and 5) Save the image, choosing "Export" if saving as a JPG. Additional tips are provided for making accurate background selections. A second document demonstrates how to blend two images by opening them as layers, resizing the canvas, arranging the images, adding a layer mask to the top image, and using the Blend Tool to blend the overlap area.
