Ghost	of	a	Dream	Biography	
	Ghost	of	a	Dream	is	the	collabora1ve	duo	of	Adam	Eckstrom	and	Lauren	Was.	They	began	their	
collabora1on	in	2007	shortly	aDer	mee1ng	at	Rhode	Island	School	of	Design	where	the	both	received	
MFAs	(2004	Lauren	in	Sculpture,	2005	Adam	in	pain1ng).	Among	their	most	recent	exhibi1ons	is	“State	
of	the	Art”,	a	traveling	museum	exhibi1on	that	has	shown	at	Crystal	Bridges	Museum,	The	Telfair	
Museum,	Minneapolis	Ins1tute	of	Art,	The	Dixon	Gallery	and	Gardens	Museum	in	Memphis,	Frist	
Center	for	Visual	Arts	in	Nashville	and	The	Mint	in	CharloVe.		Ghost	of	a	Dream’s	recent	solo	exhibi1ons	
include	A	Devil	to	Pay,	CES	Gallery	in	Los	Angeles;	The	Fair	Housing	Project,	Smack	Mellon,	Brooklyn,	NY;	
A	Good	Run	of	Bad	Luck,	Binghamton	University,	Binghamton,	NY;	and	Gone	the	Sun,	Galerie	Paris-
Beijing	in	Paris,	France.	They	are	represented	by	Galerie	Paris	Beijing	(including	solo	exhibi1ons	in	Paris,	
2015;	Brussels,	2013,	and	Beijing,	2010)	and	by	Galleri	Christo?er	Egelund	in	Copenhagen,	Denmark.		
	Ghost	of	a	Dream	has	received	the	support	of	the	Pollock-Krasner	Founda1on,	New	York	
Founda1on	for	the	Arts,	Joan	Mitchell	Founda1on,	the	Ar1st	Resource	Trust	and	Jerome	Founda1on	
and	received	the	?rst	annual	Young	Masters	Art	Prize	in	London,	2009.	They	have	received	ar1st	
residencies	in	Berlin,	Basel,	Beijing,	France,	and	at	venues	throughout	the	United	States	including	The	
Bemis	Center,	ISCP,	Smack	Mellon,	Wassaic	Project,	and	the	Joan	Mitchell	Founda1on	AIR	in	New	
Orleans.	They	co-founded	a	residency	program	in	2015	at	Garda	Lake	in	Italy	1tled	ArtGarda.	Their	work	
has	been	featured	in	publica1ons	such	as	The	New	York	Times,	Vogue	Magazine,	Hyperallergic,	
BlouinArInfo,	ArtFCity,	W	Magazine,	Interview	Magazine,	World	of	Interiors.	They	have	also	been	
featured	on	Good	Morning	America	and	VICE	has	made	a	documentary	about	their	work	on	the	VICE	
Art	Talks	series.
