Working in Dr. Malumbres’ laboratory at the CNIO, I have focused in the study of mitosis and how its regulators could be associated with cancer (Pérez de Castro et al., 2007). Using, as a major tool, genetic mouse models we are validating the role that some of these regulators, specifically Aurora kinases, have as therapeutic targets for cancer treatment (Pérez de Castro et al., 2008).
