I'm interested in people and technology and how to make technology invisible through design for learning, it must so closely fit the concepts in a field of study that there is no question as to why a learner would use it. Learning tools just like any other tools, should be elegant and easy to use; this means that when a learner is exposed to new content the learner and the content should be the focus, not the technology. A learner should never ask 'why do I need to use this?', if it is asked, it already illustrates a flawed design.
