- 1. A2 Coursework – Media Texts Name: Curtis, Lily Music Video Comments: The work for the main task is complete. There is evidence of proficienty in the creative use of most of the technical skills. • shooting material appropriate to the task set; including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, variety of shot sizes and close attention to mise en scene • editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer and making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions, captions and other effects • recording and editing sound with images appropriately. Good cinematography, and well edited. Mood fits tone of song, however more narrative needed. Have the couple broken up? It’s not clear. Video ends abruptly. Needed more elements of performance. Ancillary Task 1: Digipak The candidate has demonstrated basic skill in the creative use of most of the technical skills. The design compliments the poster and music video, however genre could be clearer on the front and back cover. Some good use of font choice, however you should have checking for spelling errors on the front cover ‘feautring’. Shots used are appropriate to task and genre and are edited proficiently using photoshop. Ancillary Task 2: Poster The candidate has demonstrated proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills. The main image is well framed and shot and has been edited well in photoshop to bring out the sky. However image could have stronger links with the genre or artist. Conventions have been followed with the inclusion of social media apps and music streaming sites. Video: 25/40 Ancillary Task 1: 6/10 Ancillary Task 2: 7/10
