I work with algorithms and experiments for Dagens Nyheter (dn.se) and Dagens Industri (di.se). This means I design real-time news recommenders (personalization) and automated tagging of news texts.
Recommenders are algorithms that build an individual selection of news for each visitor, based on content, metadata and click behavior.
For tagging, I do named entity recognition (NER) and entity linking to Wikipedia in Swedish. Results are above 90% accuracy for people, locations and organizations. Entity linking allows connecting text to the semantic web for structure and added knowledge value.
