There are 6 very important words in the Greek New Testament translated in the King James and many modern translation as COMING, and they are as follows:
1.) PAROUSIA (presence) James 5:7, 1 Thes. 4:15.
But referring to the presence of Paul, it was translated PRESENCE, in Philippians 2:12. Its antonym APOUSIA in this verse is properly translated ABSENCE.
2.) APOKALUPSIS (unveiling, uncovering). Appearing by revelation. 1 Pet. 1:13, Rev. 1:1.
3.) EPIPHANEIA (manifestation, brightness). Iin connection with this, we find the word bright shining (ASTRAPHE) mistranslated in Matt. 24:27 and Luke 17:24 as LIGHTNING. That the words PAROUSIA and EPEPHANEIA are not the same is found at 2 Thess.2:8:
