Barron Hicklin is interested in becoming a Community Health Worker based on their public health background. As a Community Health Worker, they would work as part of an Accountable Communities Health Cooperative. Community Health Workers act as members of the communities they work in and help develop strategies to improve community health. They require training but can have an impact in addressing shortages of healthcare workers globally and in high-income countries. Personal qualities like being caring and patient are important for this role interacting with patients.

1. Know yourself - Research your interests, aptitudes, and values to understand what types of jobs suit you best.
2. Narrow jobs - Make a list of potential jobs based on your research, then further refine options using additional indoor and outdoor research.
3. Set goals - Establish long-term career goals and shorter-term goals to work towards your long-term plans. Set SMART goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound.
