Some Facts   200 million bloggers 54% post content or tweet daily 34% post opinions about products & brands 83% watch videos 55% upload photos 57% join social networks
What is a Blog  ? It is a website  Combines text, images, links to other sites or other media.  Generally 2-4 paragraphs long Provide information on a particular subject, issue, products etc.  Regular posts, new content, great for search engines
The Benefits of Blogs  Provides Regular Content – great for search engines Allows readers for comments – this add value to your blog when you have comments and allows them to be interactive with you Allows you to tell stories, share experiences and be personal to your audience
How did I get Started ? I attended a Couple of Chicks Tourism Online Marketing Workshop at Gaelic College – 5 years ago.
Where am I now ? Write 5 plus blogs – Tourismvc, Hike the Highlands, Hike NS,  NS Blog, ORC Blog, Experience  Ingonish Blog plus more. Member of T-List Bloggers  Why ? I enjoy writing, creating, producing, and sharing my stories.
Some Important Tips  As a minimum always include at least one  photo with your post  Try not to hyperlink more than one or two items in your paragraph… Include slideshows of photos, videos or podcasts in your blog – be interactive Always Tag your post with keywords in your post….
