High school students from Honoka'a High School on Hawaii's Big Island visited the University of Hawaii at Hilo as part of the national Job Shadow Day to learn about potential careers. The students spent time learning about programs in agriculture, marine science, pharmacy and more from faculty at UH Hilo. They also met with the Hawaii County Mayor and local businesses to discuss issues like food sustainability and geothermal energy. The goal of the program is to help young people explore career options and gain hands-on experience to develop future leaders in Hawaii.
