This document discusses color theory and the elements of color. It defines primary colors, secondary colors, and the color spectrum. It also explains complementary colors, analogous colors, monochromatic color schemes, warm colors, cool colors, and neutral colors. Additionally, it defines terms like hue, intensity, tint, shade, opaque, transparent, vehicle, pigment, oil painting, tempera paint.
The document provides instructions for a painting lesson that teaches students about color schemes and the elements of design. It outlines class objectives such as a tutorial on brush care and painting techniques. Students will complete a painted color wheel and design a coat of arms with symbols representing their team members and incorporating their selected color scheme. The lesson teaches vocabulary like primary colors and parts of the brush, while emphasizing principles of using color in art.
Color is produced when light reflects off an object into the eye. There are three properties of color: hue (name of color), intensity (strength/vividness), and value (lightness/darkness). Sir Isaac Newton discovered the first color wheel, known as the spectrum, in 1670 through separating visible light into different color bands. The color wheel organizes colors by their relationships when mixed, with primary colors of red, yellow, and blue that can be combined to form secondary colors of orange, green, and purple, and tertiary colors mixing a primary and secondary.
The document defines texture as the tactile quality of an object's surface, such as its softness or roughness, which is determined by the material used to make the object. It distinguishes between natural textures, which are textures that occur naturally, and artificial textures, which are human-made. It also distinguishes between tactile texture, which is the actual texture that can be felt, and visual texture, which is a simulated texture created through artistic techniques like painting or drawing. The document then provides instructions for two texture-related art projects - creating a texture template and making a mask with various applied textures.
This document discusses textures in art. It will teach about different types of textures including rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky and soft textures. Tactile textures are perceived through touch, while visual textures represent tactile textures using graphic elements. Natural textures come from nature while artificial textures are man-made. Artists use textures in their works to imitate reality, express emotions, or create imaginary worlds. Learners will practice creating textures using materials like paint, paper, beans and fabric or techniques like painting, drawing, stenciling, collage and transforming existing artworks.
The document discusses the color wheel and how it shows relationships between colors. It explains that the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow, which cannot be made by mixing other colors. Secondary colors like orange, green, and purple are made by mixing two primary colors. Tertiary colors such as red-violet and blue-green are created by mixing a primary color with a secondary color. The color wheel helps artists understand how to mix colors to create new shades.
The document discusses key art vocabulary words used to evaluate and discuss elements and principles of art. It defines terms like color, form, line, space, texture and value as elements of art and balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition, unity and variety as principles of design. It also defines color schemes including primary colors, secondary colors, warm colors and cool colors.

The document discusses the evolution of the meaning of the word "cartoon" over time. Originally, cartoon referred to preparatory drawings for paintings or tapestries, then later meant humorous illustrations in magazines and newspapers. Now, cartoon has several contemporary meanings including creative visual work for print media, electronic media, animated films, and digital media. When used for print media, cartoon most often refers to a single-panel humorous drawing with captions but no speech balloons, and sometimes refers to comic strips. The artists who draw cartoons are called cartoonists.
Clean up procedures involve turning in finished work, noting due dates, and putting away supplies and unfinished work. Students should also check their table and floor, rinsing the table with a sponge, sweeping up any trash on the floor, and sitting in their assigned seat once cleanup is finished.

L湛dica didactica (Report finale residenza Diego Alatorre Go_Innovation a Casa...Casa Netural
油
Go_Innovation is a special residency for social innovator held by Netural Coop in Gorizia, European Capital of Culture 2025.
L炭dica did叩ctica / Play to Connect is a provocation to think outside the box, a methodology to board uncomfortable topics in a respectful and joyful manner and an excuse to discuss unconventional solutions to contemporary challenges, where play is seen as an attitude and game design as a metaphor of creativity by which to imagine, experiment and learn about our surroundings.
Casa Netural residency in Gorizia offered Diego an opportunity to test the ideas that he has been developing over the past years and to enrich them by looking at them from a different and complementary perspective. In other words to put theory into practice.
Along the 4 weeks that he lived in Gorizia he realized how mature and innovative his own understanding of the ludic phenomenon, as most people he connected with, found the value of his research, but what was amazing for him is how much his project was fed back from completely different and complementary perspectives.
Along these days he crafter four game ideas, with different levels of complexity and currently in different stages of development. These are described in the final report.
\\
Industrial Designer by CIDI UNAM and Master in Science of Design for Interaction by TU Delft, Diego ALatorre is currently doing a PhD in Contemporary Studies at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Coimbra University.
His research explores the role of games in education: from a multimodal literacy perspective, he explores the creative process of writers, scientists, designers, artists, teachers and reflective players to learn how to critically read the world and creatively write.
