Work-Based Learning
Etowah High Schools Work-Based Learning (WBL) Program is an
educational opportunity that prepares students for the transition
from school to career. WBL students have the opportunity to obtain
experience and skills in a workplace setting, wherein they begin de-
veloping their career pathway while still in high school. WBL stu-
dents receive early release from school and can potentially earn Career, Technical and Agricultural
from 1/2 to 2 Carnegie units of elective credit a semester. To qualify Education
for the WBL Program, a student must be at least 16 years old, a jun-
ior or senior, and have an identified career objective. Other criteria
include maintaining a 3.0 GPA, being on track for graduation and
taking or have taken an elective class related to the career objective.
