- 2. Introduction Hello, Im Lee Yen Ru, a graphic designer and interesting in illustration now. This is my digital portfolio about what I learned, and what am I interesting. When I am producing this portfolio, I have learn to produce my-self in a short, easy way. Im planning to make it easy to understand and become more attractive.
- 3. About Me My name is Lee Yen Ru, a graphic designer from KL, Im 20 years old this year. I choose graphic design as my 鍖eld because Im like to draw and do character design, it makes me interest in graphic design. But when I start to learn design, I knew that graphic design was different with character design...but they say 'Cross a bridge when you come to it', right? So, I continued to learn it and becomes to like it. Strengths & Characteristics Good listener and supporter My self-improve: Challenge a new thing and try to learn it
- 4. My Learning Journey Packaging It's a dif鍖cult, expensive subject in graphic design, and I never seen another subject expensive like it. We learned it from design a box packaging, and how to design a box that have different shape, and then print, cut, fold, paste and lastly complete it. Because the box that print out on cardboard must have some gap with draft, so some time we need to redraw and print, cut, fold here are where it expensive so Im afraid to take it, but I also feel proud when the package are complete. - 5. My Learning Journey Typography We learned how to create a kinetic typo advertise with Adobe After effect. For the 鍖rst contact with it, we try to makes the word and font jump out and dance on the screen. Then, we also play with add a background music for it, add a sub- titles for a song, and then let the words have more movement on the screen to complete this team work, we also 鍖nd a lot of references to get hints for the movement, and we also discuss with our teammate to make the works we can accept. Finally, these knowledge help us to create our own animation advertise. Example of the works There are some screen shot of the video works.
- 6. Success Story/Showcase E publishing: Dummy website assignment I learned how a basic website need and how it works, I also learned how to write the codes that build a func- tional website. Each of the codes have different function and our works are link up them to make them work as a normal webpage. I feel satisfy when the button and pages move like what I want, and it also a fun work to design and list their arrangement. The most important thing is, it was a useful skill when we work to design a webpage. Example of the works It can click and went to the next page.

Success Story/Showcase Digital illustration: Renew animation This subject makes me worry because we need to renew the character, background, items of a published old animations, but I feel happy in the same weight because I can try to draw a character different than what I draw till now, and I tried animation coloring in the 鍖rst time with this project. They makes me be brave to challenge a new thing. Example of the works These are the character renew, base on animation "Saber Rider and the star sheriffs".
- 8. Success Story/Showcase Corporate Identity System: Business card design Business card are important to every company, so we also learned which infor- mation are needed for a business card. In the same time, the card design also must have the identity of the company, so it can be more attractive and the words must be easy to read. It was an interesting work that design a card in 10x10 cm was represented a company, and it was included almost all informa- tion we need. Example of the works Cocoaland Industry SDN. BHD. - 9. My Learning Journey Photography We went to KL and randomly takes picture of passengers. Because it was an outdoor works, we need to adjust 鍖ash light and shuttle speed to make a great collaboration with the nature light. Besides that, our model are the passengers and natures but not a professional model. This 鍖eldwork also make me learn how to takes picture of moving object and how to catch a good timing to shoot a picture that never have a same chance.
- 10. I have my internship at Zoo Negara Malaysia, it was a valuable experience for me because it let me learn more new useful skills. Beside that, I also be more con鍖dent to my self after this internship. It also shows me how important of communication skill is when we work in a company. - 11. Internship experience Banner Design I learned to design a banner with some picture element, and decrease the words no need for it. The banner create will be more simple but it was more attractive than a banner full of words. Besides that, I feel full of proud when I saw the banners hang on and attracted the audience eyes. I like these jobs. Example of the works Most of them create for holidays.
- 12. Internship experience Infographic Most of my work in Internship is create an infographic with information given. To complete it, I learned how to decrease the word information or change them into an icon. When the information change to icon, they will be more attractive so audience will be more interesting to read them. It was a helpful skill in any graphic design works. Example of the works It can be colourful or simple at all.
- 13. My Passion My dream is become a great illustrator, so I think I need to get public approbation in any platform. But I also remember that my 鍖eld is on graphic design, so I also take these works. When I have free times,I always have a simple sketch or design some character for my exercise. Hobbies & Interests Drawing, reading and play games.
