- 10. CASE STUDY Four of AIUBs recently graduated has started a new bottle company named L. A. bottle manufacturers and suppliers where Engineer Arif is a newly appointed employee. The company altered the amount of rubbish thrown into a river based on the river's current level. In other words, during periods of excessive rain, it would dump excess (far above IEEE rules) amounts of rubbish into the river, or they it wait until the river swelled to dump more waste. This might be disastrous for the ecosystem. Because it will not benefit the river. Engineer Arif, on the other hand, must devise a solution. Because if his company is unable to dispose of waste in a river, it will suffer a significant loss if the wastage get packed at the boundary of the factory. However, due to environmental concerns the government would not allow the company to dump waste during the river rise. This will put the company at a competitive disadvantage and cost them money. Delaying adoption will also result in large utility rate increases from the state public service commission during this
- 11. SOLUTION DEFINE BY ENGINEER ARIF Engineer Arif proposed that the factory should throw the wastage into river at an optimum level which would not affect the ecosystem of water. The rest of the wastage should be recycled by the company using recycling plants. Arif suggested to use pv plastic to make the bottles. However, to get the right containers for every type of waste that would be recycled and pv plastic is one of them. Around 75% of all the waste of pv plastic is recyclable moreover the uptake is very low. A solution to this problem defined by engineer Arif is to invest in a bottle that is not only reusable and long lasting but also the right size to carry. that is only possible by this pv plastic usage in bottle. Further more as re-using a water bottle also saves money in the long run, as fewer plastic bottles will need to be purchased.
