- 2. Why does it resonate for you? This article resonated with me because its a way for young children/teens to be independent instead of dependent on their parents for money or always asking for them to buy you something. The child can feel satisfaction on doing something for themself for once and have some sort of control over their lives. Having a job at a young age will teach you many life lessons that you can learn from when you get older like how to manage your money, having the responsibility of going to work, and teach you to be independent. A job at a young age gives the child a way of realizing how the really world is like in the workforce. Having a good job and making your own money will give that child a sort of achievement/accomplishment in there life. So I agree with the article that young children should get the opportunity to have a decent job I feel like it important and can teach you so many things.
- 3. How can your interest be applied locally? Giving young people a decent jobs they need to learn how to manage money and how to keep a budget . It is important that they know and learn this because it sets them up for there future. By learning how to budget, save, and earn money they will feel more prepared for the future and be more informed. Often times teens and young adults are not aware or well prepared when it comes to finance, schools should offer a mandatory course where it teaches students how to manage money outside of school and when you are on your own.
- 4. Where can you personally make the greatest contribution? When I was younger I didn't have much knowledge about saving or budgeting for myself with the little amount of money I had. Since I’m older now I understand and can help young adults learn more about saving and budgeting by educating them about the basic of finance that would help them in the long run in the future.
- 5. Is there a feature of social media that can be uniquely applied to this goal? Social media is a way for people to interact with one another and for you to gain information or share it. Social media is used worldwide making looking for jobs much easier. Social media is also used by companies they like to look at their future employers to see their qualifications and to get a sense of how they are. Social medias like Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Nowadays you don't have to go in person to apply for a job or to see if they are hiring you can simply just apply online with these three websites and get to learn more about the job on there platforms. For the young adults to have a decent job there needs to be some sort of experience. Since they are young there are not a lot of experience that they are carrying at a young age that jobs are looking for. With social media you can raise awareness towards young adults getting decent jobs on social media platforms by tweeting about it, hashtags, and ads to reach millions of people.
