Rick Weinberg presents on writing instruction that meets Common Core standards for struggling students. He discusses why teaching writing is important, how to support struggling students, and examples of assistive technologies that can help students organize and express their ideas. Some key assistive technologies mentioned are voice recognition apps, word prediction, and digital notetaking pens. The presentation aims to provide tools and strategies to enable all students to develop their writing skills.

This document discusses security best practices for businesses using AWS cloud services. It emphasizes that security is a shared responsibility between AWS and customers. AWS is responsible for security of the cloud, while customers are responsible for security in the cloud. The document outlines AWS security services like CloudTrail, Config, and Key Management Service that provide visibility, auditability, and control over resources. It also discusses AWS's security culture of continuous testing, monitoring, and reducing potential vulnerabilities.
The document discusses territorial living labs, which integrate the living lab approach into a territory and its citizens, governance, and strategic plans. Territorial living labs were discussed at ENoLL-World Bank meetings in February 2012. Examples of territorial living labs presented included ones in Sicily, Italy focused on citizen involvement in strategic planning, and the MedLab project model involving regional policy frameworks, ICT platforms, local authorities, citizens, and businesses in multi-level governance. Pilot experiments in various European regions applied the living labs approach to issues like rural ICT services, coastal environment monitoring, and sustainable tourism.
Bodmin Moor was intruded as magma into overlying sedimentary rocks some 270 million years ago. Rough Tor is owned by the National Trust and is aptly named. Tors occur in rocks other than granite and are found the length and breadth of the British Isles. Their formation remains a matter of some controversy but they are undoubtedly an important facet of our landscape heritage.
A look at the new paradigms of digital distribution.
What are the new means of digital distribution? How do you get videos in front of a massive Internet audience? What business opportunities arise? These are some of the most pressing issues concerning digital distribution. This session covers some answers as well as the latest trends on these topics.
Men face higher risks of mortality and disease compared to women across many health issues. They are more likely to engage in risky behaviors like unhealthy eating, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol and drug use, and risk-taking behaviors. As a result, men have higher rates of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, suicide, and accidental death. Screening and preventative care can help address these issues. Regular health checks including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, cancer screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling are recommended starting in a man's 20s and 50s to catch problems early and improve health outcomes.

This document describes the case of a 41-year-old Kenyan male presenting with wheezing, cough, and orthopnea. On examination, he has elevated blood pressure and increased jugular vein distension. An electrocardiogram shows left ventricular hypertrophy and ST segment changes. The document then provides information on various tropical cardiac diseases, including nutritional deficiencies, idiopathic cardiomyopathy, endomyocardial fibrosis, pericardial diseases, and infectious causes of myocarditis.
An object-oriented program consists of objects that communicate by sending messages. Objects represent components like numbers, files, and processes, while messages represent interactions between components. Each object holds attributes to store information and can respond to messages. A class defines a template for objects, ensuring each has the same attributes and understands/responds to the same messages in the same way. The protocol of a class is the set of messages its objects understand.

EdWeb2Work is a European Union funded education project that has two missions:
1. To create a network that spans education and the world of work and is designed to improve the use of Web2.0 tools in both fields.
2. To create a set of tools for the empirical evaluation of Web2.0 tools
The project will create a network between stakeholders in the education and work sectors that will examine how both should be using Web2.0 in the education and work environments.

The document discusses the benefits of exercise for both physical and mental health. It notes that regular exercise can reduce the risk of diseases like heart disease and diabetes, improve mood, and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. The document recommends that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week to gain these benefits.

The last ice sheet to completely cover Scotland (the Devensian ice sheet) began to melt and its margins retreat about 20,000 years ago as summer sunlight in the northern hemisphere increased. Over the following 10,000 years, the average global temperature rose by 3.50C and most of the Devensian ice sheet melted in the Great Thaw. In Scotland, however, a seemingly contradictory readvance of the ice took place. Around 12,900 years ago, the temperatures in Scotland plummeted and remained low for about 1300 years. This glacial period, known as the Younger Dryas, is thought to have been caused by huge quantities of meltwater escaping into the North Atlantic and closing down the North Atlantic Ocean Conveyor.
The evidence for this readvance was first analysed and appreciated in the broad hummocky lowlands to the south of Loch Lomond and this became the type area for the readvance .
The document discusses the benefits of meditation for reducing stress and anxiety. Regular meditation practice can help calm the mind and body by lowering heart rate and blood pressure. Studies have shown that meditating for just 10-20 minutes per day can have significant positive impacts on both mental and physical health over time.

APM event hosted by the South Wales and West of England Network (SWWE Network)
Speaker: Aalok Sonawala
The SWWE Regional Network were very pleased to welcome Aalok Sonawala, Head of PMO, National Programmes, Rider Levett Bucknall on 26 February, to BAWA for our first face to face event of 2025. Aalok is a member of APMs Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APMs PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMOs within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.
