KHANDVI
GANTHIYA
 Ganthiya is a popular
India deep fried snack
made from chickpea
flour
 It can be found
throughout Gujarat at
numerous street stalls,
but the snack is
especially popular during
Diwali.
DABELI
 This filling snack is also
enjoyed in others parts of
the country.
 Dabeli combines toasted
ladi pav buns and a
filling that is made with
mashed potatoes and a
spice mix usually
consisting of coriander,
turmeric, cardamom,
fennel seeds, chilli
peppers and other spices.
FAFDA
A popular tea time snack,
fafda is one of the most
loved Gujarati dishes.
Laced with besan and fried
crisp, this is best served
with a chutney of your
choice and fried green
chillies garnished over
it. It is stuffed with spices
like ajwain, haldi and salt,
fafda is a quick and easy
snack that you can also
savour during the monsoon
as well.
Khakhra
 Khakhra is a popular,
crispy flatbread originated
from the indian state of
Gujarat.
 Made with wheat flour, mat
bean and oil, the crackers
are typically consumed for
breakfast.
 Khakhra can also be
transformed into a sweet
snack by spreading some
ghee and sugar on top of it
Gota
 Gota is Gujarat's very
own pakoda dish made
from gram flour and
fenugreek leaves.
 Originating from the
village of Dakor in
Gujarat, Gota is a
traditional Gujarati dish
and a special delicacy
during Holi.
 Easy and fast to prepare
and having a soft texture.
Gujarati Kadhi
 Gujarati version of kadhi is
a traditional summer staple
that can be prepared with
plain yogurt or fresh curd.
 Gujarati kadhi is
distinguished by the
addition of sugar or
jaggery, which provides a
subtle sweetness to the
dish. Traditionally
garnished with freshly
chopped coriander, it is
usually served
accompanied by rice or roti
bread.

METHI KA THePLa
Bardoli ki Khichdi
 A fragrant rice
preparation along
with dal, spices, peas,
potatoes and raw
mangoes. This is a
Gujarati delight that one
shouldn't miss!
Sev Tamatar Nu Shaak
 A stormy confluence of
flavors of can be felt in
every bite of the Sev
Tamatar Nu Shaak, one of
the very few Gujarati dishes
that bring a sweet, salty,
tangy, and spicy flavor in
one go.
 After sauteing diced onions
and tomatoes in oil and
spices, the dish is cooked
and sev is added on top of
it to get the spicy and salty
flavor to the dish.
Undhiyu
 This Gujarati vegetable
curry is wholesome and
very healthy. Made with a
m辿lange of winter veggies
like
brinjals, surtipapdi, potato
es, coconut, bananas and
methi,
 This dish is traditionally
served in earthen pots.
 Undhiyu served with puris
and shrikhand is a
common occurrence during
Gujarati weddings.
PATRA
 Patra is a traditional
Gujarati vegetarian dish
prepared with nutritious
colocasia leaves
 Which are stuffed with a
mix of ingredients such as
garam masala, gram flour,
mustard seeds, sesame
seeds, turmeric, chili paste,
and asafetida.
 The leaves are then rolled,
steamed, and fried or deep-
fried until crispy.
Shrikhand is a simple
and soothing Gujarati
dessert made with
hung curd. Mango with
Shrikhand is a heavenly
combination one can
have in summers!

Indian dessert is paired
with the king of fruits.

Keeping the dessert always for
the last! This is one Indian
dessert that you just can't
afford to miss. Shrikhand is a
delicacy from both Gujarat
and Maharashtra, which is
also known as 'Matho' and is
often offered as prasad in
temples during pujas and
many other festive
occasions. Filled with rich,
creamy flavour, this recipe
has delicious yogurt topped
with elaichi powder.
KANSAR
 Kansar is a traditional
dessert dish originating
from Gujarat in Western
India. Its main
ingredient is cracked
wheat, combined with
milk, ghee, and sugar.
 After the marriage,
kansar is the first dish
that should be cooked by
the bride if she is cooking
at her in-laws' house for
the first time.
 Mohanthal is a soft
fudge-like sweet made
from sweetened gram
flour (besan) and
flavoured with saffron,
cardamom and nuts like
almonds and pistachios.
 It is said to be Lord
Krishna's favorite
dessert, and hence made
very lovingly during the
festival of Janmashtami.

Ghari
 Surati Ghati as it is usually
called is a sweet dish so
called because it is mainly
prepared in Surat.
 Gujarat to be consumed
during the festival of
Chandani Padva.
 Ghari is made of milk, ghee
and puri batter with sweet
fillings inside which is then
moulded into round
shapes. These are also
made in many different
flavours like pistachio,
almonds and more.
DOODHPAAK
 Doodhpak is a traditional
Gujarati sweet dish. It is
known for its delectable
flavours and textures
 It is prepared with
ingredients such as milk,
Basmati rice, sugar,
cardamom, saffron and
dried fruits like almonds,
pistachios, raisins etc.,
and a dash of Desi Ghee.
Basundi
 It is Similar To Rabri
 Basundi is a sweet dish
that comprises of boiled
condensed milk and
made in multiple flavors
like custard apple and
grape.
 Basundi is particularly
served on auspicious
occasions and festivals
like Kali Chaudas and
Bhaubeej.
Ghughra
 Ghugra or Gujiya is
another festive Gujarati
snack. It is also known as
Kanauji in various parts of
India.
 The filling is made using
roasted semolina or rawa,
dry fruits such as almonds,
raisins; grated coconut,
cardamom powder and
sugar.
 They are formed in a half-
moon shape, where the
round edge is twisted to
create a pattern.
Murghanu Shaak
 Murghanu Shak is a
unique taste of Gujarat that
celebrates those authentic
Gujarati flavours of the
drumstick, potatoes and
the Gujarati masala in this
sweet, sour and tangy
chicken dish.
 The chicken is marinated in
a mixture of oil, yoghurt
and spices and then cooked
in a lovely gravy of onions,
garlic, ginger, chilli
powder, garam masala and
any other vegetables you
may wish to add.
 It is a delicious, fast and
easy recipe to make some
delicious Gujarati-style
chicken at home.
Rotlo
 A staple food in the state
of Gujarat.
 Rotlo is a flatbread made
of bajra, jowar or nachni
flour that is fast
spreading to restaurants
and hotels in other parts
of India as well.
 In the most traditional
sense, Rotlo is consumed
with raw white onion,
green chilies, and
buttermilk.

  • 4. GANTHIYA Ganthiya is a popular India deep fried snack made from chickpea flour It can be found throughout Gujarat at numerous street stalls, but the snack is especially popular during Diwali.
  • 5. DABELI This filling snack is also enjoyed in others parts of the country. Dabeli combines toasted ladi pav buns and a filling that is made with mashed potatoes and a spice mix usually consisting of coriander, turmeric, cardamom, fennel seeds, chilli peppers and other spices.
  • 6. FAFDA A popular tea time snack, fafda is one of the most loved Gujarati dishes. Laced with besan and fried crisp, this is best served with a chutney of your choice and fried green chillies garnished over it. It is stuffed with spices like ajwain, haldi and salt, fafda is a quick and easy snack that you can also savour during the monsoon as well.
  • 7. Khakhra Khakhra is a popular, crispy flatbread originated from the indian state of Gujarat. Made with wheat flour, mat bean and oil, the crackers are typically consumed for breakfast. Khakhra can also be transformed into a sweet snack by spreading some ghee and sugar on top of it
  • 8. Gota Gota is Gujarat's very own pakoda dish made from gram flour and fenugreek leaves. Originating from the village of Dakor in Gujarat, Gota is a traditional Gujarati dish and a special delicacy during Holi. Easy and fast to prepare and having a soft texture.
  • 9. Gujarati Kadhi Gujarati version of kadhi is a traditional summer staple that can be prepared with plain yogurt or fresh curd. Gujarati kadhi is distinguished by the addition of sugar or jaggery, which provides a subtle sweetness to the dish. Traditionally garnished with freshly chopped coriander, it is usually served accompanied by rice or roti bread.

Sev Tamatar Nu Shaak A stormy confluence of flavors of can be felt in every bite of the Sev Tamatar Nu Shaak, one of the very few Gujarati dishes that bring a sweet, salty, tangy, and spicy flavor in one go. After sauteing diced onions and tomatoes in oil and spices, the dish is cooked and sev is added on top of it to get the spicy and salty flavor to the dish.
  • 13. Undhiyu This Gujarati vegetable curry is wholesome and very healthy. Made with a m辿lange of winter veggies like brinjals, surtipapdi, potato es, coconut, bananas and methi, This dish is traditionally served in earthen pots. Undhiyu served with puris and shrikhand is a common occurrence during Gujarati weddings.

PATRA Patra is a traditional Gujarati vegetarian dish prepared with nutritious colocasia leaves Which are stuffed with a mix of ingredients such as garam masala, gram flour, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric, chili paste, and asafetida. The leaves are then rolled, steamed, and fried or deep- fried until crispy.

Filled with rich, creamy flavour, this recipe has delicious yogurt topped with elaichi powder.
  • 17. KANSAR Kansar is a traditional dessert dish originating from Gujarat in Western India. Its main ingredient is cracked wheat, combined with milk, ghee, and sugar. After the marriage, kansar is the first dish that should be cooked by the bride if she is cooking at her in-laws' house for the first time.
  • 18. Mohanthal is a soft fudge-like sweet made from sweetened gram flour (besan) and flavoured with saffron, cardamom and nuts like almonds and pistachios. It is said to be Lord Krishna's favorite dessert, and hence made very lovingly during the festival of Janmashtami. Mohanthal
  • 19. Ghari Surati Ghati as it is usually called is a sweet dish so called because it is mainly prepared in Surat. Gujarat to be consumed during the festival of Chandani Padva. Ghari is made of milk, ghee and puri batter with sweet fillings inside which is then moulded into round shapes. These are also made in many different flavours like pistachio, almonds and more.
  • 20. DOODHPAAK Doodhpak is a traditional Gujarati sweet dish. It is known for its delectable flavours and textures It is prepared with ingredients such as milk, Basmati rice, sugar, cardamom, saffron and dried fruits like almonds, pistachios, raisins etc., and a dash of Desi Ghee.
  • 21. Basundi It is Similar To Rabri Basundi is a sweet dish that comprises of boiled condensed milk and made in multiple flavors like custard apple and grape. Basundi is particularly served on auspicious occasions and festivals like Kali Chaudas and Bhaubeej.
  • 22. Ghughra Ghugra or Gujiya is another festive Gujarati snack. It is also known as Kanauji in various parts of India. The filling is made using roasted semolina or rawa, dry fruits such as almonds, raisins; grated coconut, cardamom powder and sugar. They are formed in a half- moon shape, where the round edge is twisted to create a pattern.

Murghanu Shaak Murghanu Shak is a unique taste of Gujarat that celebrates those authentic Gujarati flavours of the drumstick, potatoes and the Gujarati masala in this sweet, sour and tangy chicken dish. The chicken is marinated in a mixture of oil, yoghurt and spices and then cooked in a lovely gravy of onions, garlic, ginger, chilli powder, garam masala and any other vegetables you may wish to add. It is a delicious, fast and easy recipe to make some delicious Gujarati-style chicken at home.
  • 24. Rotlo A staple food in the state of Gujarat. Rotlo is a flatbread made of bajra, jowar or nachni flour that is fast spreading to restaurants and hotels in other parts of India as well. In the most traditional sense, Rotlo is consumed with raw white onion, green chilies, and buttermilk.
