This document summarizes two analyses examining predictors of technical aptitude and technical training performance. Analysis I found that a measure of technical aptitude was related to post-training test scores, but individual technical knowledge subtests were not. Analysis II found that the IT Aptitude Battery provided incremental validity over existing selection composites in predicting technical aptitude, particularly technical knowledge aptitude. Overall, the analyses suggest technical aptitude may be a better predictor of technical training outcomes than measures of technical knowledge alone.
This document outlines a thesis on developing a minimally invasive surgery (MIS) training and simulation system using gesture-based haptic guidance. The system uses motion capture to track instrument and upper-body motions during simulated surgical tasks. Surgical gestures are modeled using machine learning techniques. Haptic feedback is provided based on the gesture models to guide trainees' motions and improve their skills. Experimental results showed that gesture-based haptic guidance helped trainees complete tasks faster and with smoother motions compared to no guidance. Future work involves incorporating upper-body motion data into gesture models and conducting more complex and clinical studies.

The document describes Mona Mock's mixed media presentation, which includes video, digital imaging, and performance art. Her interventions are socially critical performances meant to engage with ideological and cultural struggles. They act as "reality hacks" that disrupt everyday life and structures to offer alternative realities and viewpoints. Photography, digital imaging, sculpture, and video are used to both document interventions and manipulate reality. The goal is to provoke thought and dialogue about socio-political issues through temporary public art projects and actions.
1. The study aimed to determine if technical skill can be measured independently from technical knowledge using data from the U.S. Navy Apprentice Technical Training program.
2. Factor analysis revealed the data supported a two-dimensional model of technical aptitude, with technical skill and technical knowledge as separate but related constructs.
3. Variance component analysis showed that observed score variance was explained by both technical knowledge and technical skill domains, with unique variance specific to each test as well.
Choosing which device to invest in for the classroom is a big decision and can take a considerable amount of time. There are many great tablets on the market making it difficult to narrow down the options. You want something that is durable, functional for the classroom and secure, with a good quality screen display and is enjoyable for students and staff to use. Two popular tablets on the market right now that fit the bill are the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro 4. In this Infographic we compare the two tablets side by side.

The ITAB is an interactive aptitude battery that measures fluid intelligence through game-like tests. It aims to assess intelligence in a way that is engaging for test-takers who dislike traditional tests. The ITAB measures how well users incorporate feedback to solve problems efficiently. It provides scores on prediction, work style, and intelligence that can be customized. Research shows the ITAB predicts technical training outcomes incrementally over an ASVAB composite. The ITAB is a valid, reliable tool for measuring fluid intelligence relevant for technical jobs.

Blind Spots in AI and Formulation Science Knowledge Pyramid (Updated Perspect...Ajaz Hussain
油
This presentation delves into the systemic blind spots within pharmaceutical science and regulatory systems, emphasizing the significance of "inactive ingredients" and their influence on therapeutic equivalence. These blind spots, indicative of normalized systemic failures, go beyond mere chance occurrences and are ingrained deeply enough to compromise decision-making processes and erode trust.
Historical instances like the 1938 FD&C Act and the Generic Drug Scandals underscore how crisis-triggered reforms often fail to address the fundamental issues, perpetuating inefficiencies and hazards.
The narrative advocates a shift from reactive crisis management to proactive, adaptable systems prioritizing continuous enhancement. Key hurdles involve challenging outdated assumptions regarding bioavailability, inadequately funded research ventures, and the impact of vague language in regulatory frameworks.
The rise of large language models (LLMs) presents promising solutions, albeit with accompanying risks necessitating thorough validation and seamless integration.
Tackling these blind spots demands a holistic approach, embracing adaptive learning and a steadfast commitment to self-improvement. By nurturing curiosity, refining regulatory terminology, and judiciously harnessing new technologies, the pharmaceutical sector can progress towards better public health service delivery and ensure the safety, efficacy, and real-world impact of drug products.
