Dye sublimation printing works best on polyester fabrics because the dye bonds with the polyester fibers, whereas cotton does not absorb the dye well. For cotton-polyester blends, prints will be brighter and more colorfast on fabrics with higher polyester content (50/50 or higher). When printing on cotton blends, tests prints are recommended since the final colors may differ from expectations. Dye sublimation ensures an even application of dye within fabric fibers for a uniform print that is resistant to fading from washing or water.
