The UNDP Innovation Facility supported 49 initiatives across 54 countries in 2014 with funding from the Government of Denmark. The initiatives focused on citizen engagement, strategic foresight for governments, and co-designing solutions through innovation labs and camps. Some highlights included launching a roving innovation lab in Haiti to support youth entrepreneurship, collecting citizen feedback in multiple countries through mobile platforms, and developing an e-waste recycling app in China. Lessons learned included a need for greater focus on scaling initiatives and co-designing with rural and vulnerable populations. UNDP also supported international conferences on innovation and development in 2014.
This document proposes a simultaneous multi-channel reconstruction method for TDS-OFDM systems using distributed compressive sensing. It utilizes an interference-free region within the received pseudorandom noise sequence to reconstruct multiple sparse channels simultaneously, without requiring interference cancellation. A simultaneous CoSaMP algorithm is developed to achieve better channel estimation performance in fast fading channels. Simulation results show the proposed scheme improves performance over conventional solutions.

This document discusses the design process for conversational interfaces. It begins with research to understand user needs and questions through contextual interviews and wizard of oz experiments. Next is strategy, where the basic rules and principles of the conversation are defined. Prototyping then brings the conversation to life through paper sketches, storyboards, and conversational prototyping tools. The process culminates in design, where user-centered methods are used to flesh out detailed dialogs moving from general topics. The overall goal is to lay the groundwork for meaningful conversational experiences.

APM event hosted by the South Wales and West of England Network (SWWE Network)
Speaker: Aalok Sonawala
The SWWE Regional Network were very pleased to welcome Aalok Sonawala, Head of PMO, National Programmes, Rider Levett Bucknall on 26 February, to BAWA for our first face to face event of 2025. Aalok is a member of APMs Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APMs PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMOs within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.
