Music videos conventionally feature stylized visuals that are cut in time with the music. They intercut between shots of the artist performing and supplementary images or narrative elements. Videos often break traditional editing rules and utilize experimental camerawork, digital effects, close-ups of the artist, and stories—either suggested by or directly relating to—the lyrics. Because of their short length, music videos are fast-paced and employ allusions to other media.
