IRJET- Oral Cancer Detection using Machine LearningIRJET Journal
油
This paper proposes a machine learning approach to detect oral cancer at early stages. The researchers developed a health application that uses data mining techniques like association rule mining and the Apriori algorithm to analyze datasets of patient attributes and symptoms. The application aims to predict whether a patient has oral cancer based on their input data and classify cases using rules generated by Apriori. It seeks to automate oral cancer prediction and discover relationships between cancer attributes to help clinical decision making.

This document summarizes a study that investigated whether professionally trained police drivers exhibit safer driving behavior in simulated driving tasks compared to non-police trained drivers. 54 police trained drivers and 56 non-police trained drivers completed two simulated driving tasks - overtaking a slow bus on a hazardous road, and following a lead vehicle in a built up area. Results showed police drivers were less likely to cross the central road division unsafely during overtaking and reduced speed more when approaching pedestrians. Police drivers also maintained a more central lane position on urban roads and at traffic lights. The implications for driver training assessment and skill development are discussed.

The document discusses different models for evaluating educational technology programs. It analyzes studies that evaluated continuing medical education web-based programs using Kirkpatrick's model of evaluation, which measures reaction, learning, behavior, and results. Many studies found improved learning outcomes and performance through pre-and post-testing. However, the findings suggest more research is needed to determine which web-based learning systems best enhance practice changes and impact patient health outcomes.
Alcohol consumption in higher education institutes is not a new problem; but excessive drinking by
underage students is a serious health concern. Excessive drinking among students is associated with a number
of life-threatening consequences that include serious injuries; alcohol poisoning; temporary loss of
consciousness; academic failure; violence, unplanned pregnancy; sexually transmitted diseases, troubles with
authorities, property damage; and vocational and criminal consequences that could jeopardize future job
prospects. This article describes a learning technique to improve the efficiency of academic performance in
the educational institutions for students who consume alcohol. This move can help in identifying the students
who need special advising or counselling to understand the danger of consuming alcohol. This was carried
out in two major phases: feature selection which aims at constructing diverse feature selection algorithms
such as Gain Ratio attribute evaluation, Correlation based Feature Selection, Symmetrical Uncertainty and
Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithms. Afterwards, a subset of features is chosen for the classification
phase. Next, several machine-learning classification methods are chosen to estimate the teenagers alcohol
addiction possibility. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed approach could improve the
accuracy performance and achieve promising results with a limited number of features.

Dear Researcher: Should I get my child a pet?
Recently, a parent reached out to me with the following question: Dear Researcher, my daughter has been asking for a pet for several years now, but I have been hesitant. What does the research say on the benefits of owning a pet? After receiving this question, I decided to dig into the research on the benefits and drawbacks of owning a pet. I have often heard of the positive emotional impact that owning a pet has, but I had not reviewed what the research said on this topic until receiving this question. So, thank you for your question reader!
Before viewing the benefits of pet ownership, I think it is important to first focus on the possible drawbacks. Research has shown that the biggest drawbacks of pet ownership is the stress caused from a pets death or worry about the pets safety (Bryant, 1990). While the death of a beloved pet is eventually inevitable, worries about safety could be reduced by having a pet safe environment within your home.
While the drawbacks are important to consider, there are also many benefits given to pet owners, such as increased emotional well-being. A recent study has shown that pets are an essential source of social support to their owners and their owners have an increased sense of emotional well-being associated with their pet ownership (McConnell, Brown, Shoda, Stayton, & Martin, 2011). Pets also have been shown to offer support to people facing a significant stress in their life (McConnell et al., 2011). The study conducted by Bryant (1990) that listed the drawbacks to pet ownership also agreed that pet ownership offers the owner emotional benefits.
Along with the emotional benefits, there are also important health benefits to owning a pet. People who interact with pets while in the hospital have better health outcomes (Friedmann, Barker, & Allen, 2011). Pet owners also have better medical outcomes on the whole when compared to non-pet owners (Friedmann et al., 2011). In addition, pet owners make fewer annual visits to the doctors office and are on less medications associated with sleeping issues and heart problems (Headey, 1999).
Overall, the research is in strong support of the benefits to owning a pet. From the health benefits to the emotional benefits given to a child, owning a pet definitely has its perks. However, the research is focused on cat and dog ownership, so these benefits may not apply to more low maintenance pets such as fish. Please be sure to consider if your house can accommodate the needs of owning a pet before adopting or purchasing one! This list of ten considerations may be helpful to view before you purchase a pet of your own. As a proud pet owner myself, I wish you the best of luck on your new pet journey! Feel free to ask any further questions about pet ownership below.

IRJET- Road Traffic Prediction using Machine LearningIRJET Journal
油
This document summarizes a research paper on predicting road traffic using machine learning. The paper aims to develop accurate prediction models using accident data to identify factors that contribute to accidents. This will help develop safety measures to prevent accidents. The paper reviews previous literature on identifying accident-prone locations and factors. It then describes the methodology used, which involves collecting accident data and dividing it into categories based on accident severity. Statistical analysis is performed on the data and results show predictions of accidents in urban, rural and other areas over time. The conclusions are that a broader analysis of more accident factors can improve predictions and help reduce accidents.
A technology called an alcohol detection driver system is used to stop drunk driving by identifying alcohol in a motorist's breath or blood. This technology correctly measures the amount of alcohol a driver has in their system using sensors and algorithms, and it stops the car from starting if the amount is more than the legal limit. The number of fatal accidents and traffic fatalities caused by drinking could be greatly decreased thanks to this technology. The main focus of this project is to carry out the experiment in lowering the number of alcohol-related incidents on the road. Alcohol detection devices come in a variety of forms right now, including ignition interlocks, passive alcohol sensors, and in-car breathalyzers. Although these systems have reduced the number of drunk driving accidents, there remain questions about their efficiency, dependability, and cost. According to the sensor's specs, the output voltage of the MQ-3 sensor reduces by 69% during the sensor's recovery period of 30 seconds at 69% of baseline resistance. To assess the long-term viability and efficiency of these systems in lowering alcohol-related accidents and enhancing traffic safety, more research is required.

This study presents a methodology to determine risk scores of individuals, for a given financial risk preference survey. To this end, we use a regression based iterative algorithm to determine the weights for survey questions in the scoring process. Next, we generate classification models to classify individuals into risk-averse and risk-seeking categories, using a subset of survey questions. We illustrate the methodology through a sample survey with 656 respondents. We find that the demographic (indirect) questions can be almost as successful as risk-related (direct) questions in predicting risk preference classes of respondents. Using a decision-tree based classification model, we discuss how one can
generate actionable business rules based on the findings.

This document summarizes a study that examines how self-awareness, or the ability to accurately assess one's own driving skills and weaknesses, affects traffic safety behavior. The study used a driving simulator to measure self-awareness and traffic safety behaviors in 27 older adult participants. Self-awareness was assessed by comparing participants' self-ratings of driving skills on a questionnaire to their actual performance on matching skills in the simulator. No significant differences were found in self-awareness or traffic safety behaviors between participants who overestimated or underestimated their skills. The author hypothesizes this may be because the experienced, older adult participants have already developed their driving skills and self-awareness primarily affects learning to drive.
