Page | 3 A: CORNELIA ZOOMERS MARKETING: YEAR : FEBRUARY 2015 JANUARY 2016 ACCOUNT MANAGER, MARKETING AND EVENTS CO-ORDINATION SUB-CONTRACTOR: I was working as a sub-contractor and assistant to Cornelia Zoomers who've made her mark in the Lowveld by securing the marketing and public relations contract for both the prominent I'langa and Riverside malls, as well as for the Produkta Motor Group which boasts with big brands like Nissan, Ford, Mazda, Honda and Suzuki in Nelspruit. Ive recently relocated to Gauteng, to learn more and advance my career and place my children in specialized schools. That is why Im taking the leap of faith, imagining my own success, and applying to your company. JOB DESCRIPTION : Organizing exhibitions, displays, events, launches and functions for both the Produkta Motor Group as well as for Ilanga Mall ensuring Sensational Shopping. Occasionally interviewing clients and writing editorials for newspaper publications. Assisted with the planning and brain storming of marketing strategies. I did sales on an ad-hock basis. Petty Cash requisition. Designing advertisements, flyers and posters. Selling proposals for clients on marketing strategies and campaigns. Report writing. Dealing with client budgets. Designing a monthly 8 page insert newspaper wherein each of the dealerships featured their special deals for the month. The execution of ordering and designing promotional material (flags, banners, chocolates etc.). Social Media updates on and and sending marketing updates and pictures to social media sites like www.showme.co.za and www.klcbt.co.za. Writing proposals for new Features and Supplements and selling those to management Once the ideas are accepted by management, assisting with the layout of the feature. Briefing journalism team on the feature / supplement and ensuring the editorial content falls within the required guidelines. Briefing graphic department on the feature / supplement and ensuring that the look and feel of each advert honours the clients needs as well as the feature / supplement. Cold-calling, telesales and seeing existing clients and proposing the idea, in effect, selling them advertising space in the feature / supplement. Processing payments. Staying in contact with all departments ensuring they keep within the deadlines. Solving queries as and when they arise. Personally delivering the final feature / supplement publication to each advertised client to ensure theyre satisfied and enquire about long term advertising possibilities. PROMOTION POSITION #2 : ACCOUNT MANAGER AND SALES CONSULTANT Only four months after my employment commenced at Lowveld Media, I was offered a promotion as Account Manager and Sales Consultant to the award winning Auto Dealer publication. This publication is inserted into the regional community newspapers with a dedicated readership of just over 700 000 per week. I had a solid and wide client base of top brands like Nissan, Ford, Jaguar, Volvo, Jeep, Mazda to name just a few. The supplement is target market orientated and contains information on "All things cars. Locally.", wherein we strived to offer the latest local and international news, products, innovation, technology, and community information - all in the motoring industry and all in one publication.
- 5. Page | 5 JOB DESCRIPTION : Meeting with all the Dealer Principles and marketing managers on my client portfolio on a weekly basis to discuss their marketing and advertising needs. Liaising with various marketing agencies and NAB. Ensuring open communication and transparency between all in-house departments (finances, graphics, production, media etc.). Planning and writing proposals for existing clients and selling those ideas to the clients. Ensuring clients continual enthusiasm and optimism for the publication. Designing advertisement concepts and writing detailed and concise ad briefs. Copy chasing. Proposing new Features and Supplement ideas to management and clients respectively. (Entails market research). Layout assistance. Advising the layout team in terms of best exposure for each advertisement. This includes consideration for editorial content, colour schemes and advert sizes. Working closely with editor and journalist to ensure clients receive optimum value for their money. Selling online advertising packages for the www.autodealer.co.za webpage. Training clients on the websites content. Proposing increase in sales and the marketing of the Auto Dealer to management and implementing where applicable. Increasing client base on a continual basis. Attending all new vehicle and business launches for networking purposes. Reaching and exceeding weekly and monthly targets. I have written published Advertorials for clients. This was not part of my job description and I'm not a qualified journalist. But, as it was necessary in all these instances that my clients received advertorials at specific times, and our journalist wasn't available to accommodate them, I took the liberty of applying myself to the role. Page | 6 C: DA GAMA BOERDERY, UCAN & HOME CONCEPTS YEAR : 2013 POSITION : SALES MANAGER AND BUSINESS CONSULTANT (BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING) I was employed as a hands-on consultant on a temporary basis to assist with sorting out various problems these businesses experienced and to redirect them towards profitability. JOB DESCRIPTION : Training sales staff with product knowledge. Processing claims. Adjusting tenant contracts. Acquiring new tenants as and when required. General logistics and maintenance of the premises (i.e. security, assurance, dealing with municipality etc.) Typing letters, sending quotations, emails etc. Assisting owner with work, schedules, diary, travel arrangements etc. Visiting various sites in the Lowveld to ensure the smooth running of all business related issues. The family is situated in various areas country wide and the running of all three businesses became overwhelming to manage alone. I enjoyed offering ideas on how to market each business individually and to encourage and train staff at various branches. Im pleased to report that all three businesses are still functioning successfully.

Page | 7 D: SWIFT WEB DESIGN STUDIOS T/a Alpha Internet Caf辿 YEAR : 2001-2012 POSITION : CO-OWNER AND MANAGER My husband and I owned an internet caf辿 in the Riverside Mall in Nelspruit offering general internet access to the public and training centers especially catering for the Mozambique clientele visiting the area. We later expanded and opened another branch in the Crossings Shopping Centre adjacent to Mugg & Bean. Our services ranged from selling computer software, training the public, typing and secretarial services, and hosting gaming nights and competitions. We focused on professional and friendly service with the minimum fuss and allowed our clients the convenience of shopping or meeting with friends or colleagues for lunch (and even gambling at the Emnotweni Casino) while all their office needs were seen to by our capable and well trained staff. Both these branches filled the gap in the market at the time and continued growing. SKILLS ACQUIRED : Handling all business finances and banking. Stock ordering, collecting and stock taking. Training staff and general human resources. Customer Services. Shift lists and allocations. (Two branches open 7 days a week both day and night) General management tasks. Page | 8 E: STARLIGHT CRUISES (The Entertainment contractors for Mediterranean Shipping Cruises (MSC) ) YEAR : 2000 POSITION : HOSTESS AND ENTERTAINER ON THE SYMPHONY CRUISE SHIP JOB DESCRIPTION : Welcoming passengers, socializing and contributing to the holiday feel of the cruise. Hosting parties, games and events throughout the ship at various times ensuring fun activities and entertainment at any time. Demonstrating and assisting passengers with safety drills. Assisting in planning the events each morning. Assisting with embarkation and disembarkation on each cruise. Tour guide and hostess on excursions. Monitoring zodiac safety. Hostess at weddings and other special events. MC at events and special events and evening shows. Acting as clown / pirate or damsel in distress (costume) to liven up the vibe on the ship and as extra for photographs taken of passengers. Hosted Captains Circle dinners (repeat passengers) and sending out invitations for those. Introduced Captain, senior officers, and various guests to each other to establish good interpersonal relations. Not surprisingly, many people feel sea-sick while on board, especially during the first night. I enjoyed talking to passengers who felt ill, to help ease their minds and even take their minds off the motion sickness which worked very well for most. REASON FOR LEAVING : MSC only sails for half a year in the Atlantic Ocean and then sail to the Mediterranean Ocean for the remainder of the year. PLEASE NOTE: I did some backpacking and working in Italy (Predominantly Rome) after my first contract ended.

Page | 9 F: PUNT GESELS-RADIO (TALK RADIO STATION) PUNT GESELSRADIO YEAR : 1997- SEPTEMBER 1998 POSITION #1 : PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO MANAGING DIRECTOR POSITION #2 : PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE MEDIA AND PUBLIC RELATIOINS MANAGER It was very exciting to join PUNT Geselsradio and help pave the way towards an Afrikaans Talk Radio station in Gauteng and the Western Cape. I started working alongside a small group of colleagues just after the conceptual stage of the station, and assisted with everything from answering telephones, arranging meetings, typing, filing etc. Because of my tenacity and proven dependability and integrity, I was soon moved to Executive Secretary, and then Personal Assistant to the Managing Director. As the station grew, I asked to be placed with the Media and Public Relations department to learn more my heart was always there to begin with. SKILLS ACQUIRED : General secretarial duties. Later Executive Secretarial duties. Training receptionists in social skills and telephone etiquette. Handling shift rosters. Making appointments and booking flights and accommodation as required as well as general diarizing. Learnt about networking with advertising agencies and celebrities. Taking minutes of meetings and dictated letters and typing requirements. I gained invaluable knowledge and experience in terms of corporate business and of course, the Labour Law.
