Rakuten is planning to run its entire business in English by making English its official language. Meetings will be conducted in English regardless of whether foreigners are present. Board members who cannot speak English within two years will be fired. Rakuten employees are under pressure to learn English, with 200 out of 3,000 employees taking lessons.
