taxpayer input math errors or dollar figuresincorrectly.The IRScomputerinfrastructurewouldcatchsomeof
theseerrorsinadvance.Errors were then be quicklyidentified and repaired. Expedited the errors and
quickly repair them. Thena letterwouldbesentto thetaxpayer notifying themoftheerror. The letterwould
explaintheyneededtoresubmittheirtaxreturns correctly. If it was simplya typingerror from taxpayer, The
authority to correct the tax returnand send all requiredwritten correspondence regarding the changes to the
taxpayer.
