Ruthie Witmer CI 350-201 5/3/2014 SOLVING EQUATIONS Wednesday: Day 3 Analyze Learner The 7th class is made up of 24 students. 20 of the students are Caucasians, 3 are African- Americans, and 1 student is Asian American. There are 10 boys and 14 girls. These students have all been placed in an advanced placement course. State Objective Students will review unit and check their work using WolframAlpha as their guide. They will work in groups and be introduced to online problem solving such as WA. They will also be introduced to using their smart phone to help them when they are stuck. They will review and have prior knowledge up to 100% accuracy by then end of the day. Select Methods, Media, and Materials The students will start the class period by going over the WebQuest that was due today. We will have student volunteers show off their work. We will compare and contrast different ideas proposed by each student. I will then teach the students how to access and navigate WolframAlpha for solving system of equations. Utilize Media and Materials I will make sure that every students brings a printed copy of their completed WebQuest to class. If they cannot print, I have instructed them to email me and I will have it printed for them. I will also

Require Learner Participation Students will be encouraged to volunteer to share their ideas and plans created from their WebQuest. The class will give input as I check for precision. Evaluate and Revise The students will have their biggest percentage of the Unit grade from the extensive WebQuest assignment. Additional points will be given to the students who share their work in class and participate in class discussion.
