At Ibis Piggeries, I currently hold the position of Junior Manager. In this position, I am expected
to lead, teach, and manage a team of workers in various aspects of swine farming. Daily reports
are created and presented to Mr. Wright on the activities and processes that were conducted
throughout the work day, as well as, the number of deceased swine and the reasoning. Also
included in my daily meetings, any ideas that I may have that will improve or aid in the growth
of the swine or health of the swine. Although, I participate in cleaning duties with my team in
order to help keep my teams moral strong, I also practice strict bio-security and strictly enforce
the method with my team in order to help prevent cross contamination events. Along with a
clean home environment for the swine, a proper feeding regiment was in place and medications
were given in the food and water when needed. In addition to the above responsibilities and
expectations, I am responsible for vaccinations, artificial insemination, post mortem checks, and
weekly visits with the farm veterinarian for the pigs that I and my team look after. Lastly, I have
also worked in the Ibis Piggery feed mill and I have learned the basics of taking inventory.

The responsibilities as a farm foreman for the swine nursery were to provide vaccinations to the
swine on a routine basis and to wean the piglets from the farrowing house. In addition to the
above responsibilities; the nourishment, home environment, and proper feed regiments were
mandatory duties along with sanitizing barns for new arrival swine. Biosecurity was properly
practiced in all barns to prevent cross contamination.

The responsibilities for a farm foreman that handled nursery and finisher swine were to provide

The responsibilities of a warehouse foreman were to unload swine feed ingredients and unbag
the ingredients into totes. After the ingredients were added to the totes, the proper amount of
each ingredient was added to certain feed mixes to combine perfectly for the swine to ingest for a
healthy diet. Minor cleaning duties were included on a daily basis as well as, proper safety
measures for warehouse equipment.

The responsibilities of a farrowing instructor included training fellow coworker on the proper
procedures of artificial insemination, feed management, and the health of the swine. Procedures
that were performed were tail cutting, teeth cutting, and vaccinations. Postmortem techniques
were performed on deceased swine to better understand disease and illness within a barn or
single pig. As a maintenance employee the responsibilities included building new barns,
restoring older barns, electrical work, water work, and basic maintenance on the property.

The responsibilities as a farm foreman were to provide nourishment for lambs, cattle, swine, and
poultry as well as; keeping a clean and sanitized living environment for the livestock.
Management duties were fulfilled such as: making sure that the facilities needed were in working
order in addition to, filing and filling in paper work for the office, mixing correct feed regiments,
and managing the ordering and selling of the animals. Lastly, the responsibility of keeping the
livestocks vaccinations up to date and ordering the correct medications was mandatory with this
position.
