- 2. I manage a team of 10 tradesmen, attending to day to day maintenance of the college buildings, properties, and grounds. I have responsibility for energy management successfully and continually reducing consumption and costs by maximising new techniques and products. I am the Health and Safety advisor to 105 members of staff and qualified to NEBOSH and tech member of IOSH. As well as day to day maintenance I manage all planned capital projects, most recently the successful completion of 2 x 24 room student accommodation blocks. Currently I am working as Clerk of works/ College Liaison on a £5.4 million new seminar building which will provide the college with additional teaching space as well as conference facilities. The building is now successfully completed and in full use. In my role as FM I have restructured the department from a team of 13 to the present 10 by utilising strengths and efficiencies though identifying weaknesses, providing relevant targeted training to improve the overall service.
