Brief Summary of Career Experience – Wynand Vermeulen
Although the major of my Electrical Engineering qualification is based on heavy current,

the training, work and experience in different Steel Plants in South Africa were gained on
process instrumentation, electronic fault finding and repairs up to component level, PLC
troubleshooting and programming to optimize process (Siemens S5 S7, Modicon 584,
Allen Bradley PLC5--RSlogix5, Telemecanique and ABB- AC800).
Optimization and troubleshooting on different AC and DC drives (Siemens – Simovert
AC/Simoreg DC Master, Telemecanique, Cegelec- DG2000/4000). Troubleshooting and
repairing of proportional valve’s and actuators.
Cold and hot commissioning of newly installed and upgraded equipment in plants.
Reading and updating of electrical drawings.
Working for the last 7 years for an Oil Drilling company where further experience was
gained working on EX Equipment (Explosives) concerning installation, troubleshooting and
maintaining there off. Working and maintaining of 6.6KV breakers, generators and
dynamic positioning equipment (DP systems) on the drill ship’s bridge
