This white paper provides an overview of Plastic Logic Technology and its history developing organic electronic transistors. It describes how Plastic Logic was founded in 2000 based on research from Cambridge University. Over the next decade, Plastic Logic focused on developing transistor arrays for displays that were lightweight and flexible. They established a manufacturing facility in Dresden, Germany that could produce flexible displays on a large scale. The white paper discusses key considerations for developing transistors that balance performance and manufacturability for commercial success.
Fitting Reality is developing a cloud-based virtual fitting room that allows online shoppers to "try on" clothing digitally. Their solution uploads a customer's photo and uses their height to generate a 3D model for viewing different outfits. This improves the online shopping experience by helping customers determine proper fit and style before purchasing. Fitting Reality aims to partner with small and medium online retailers initially before expanding to larger brands. They are seeking $2 million in funding to support growth and reach profitability by 2015.

The document discusses an experiment conducted by a team at Roche to develop a new metric called the Net Manager Promoter Score (NMPS) to measure leadership. The NMPS is based on the well-known Net Promoter Score marketing metric, asking employees "Would you recommend your manager to others as a good boss to work for?". The goal is to use a simple, standardized question to promote continuous improvement in leadership and employee engagement across cultures. The global team conducting the experiment received support from senior sponsors to test whether the NMPS could provide a meaningful measure of an organization's leadership culture.
1) Companies must improve innovation management to remain competitive as globalization increases pressures and expectations for growth. Effective innovation is critical but many companies treat it as an unstructured process.
2) There is a lack of integration between the various tools and systems used for innovation, which leads to wasted resources as knowledge is scattered. Standard tools are not well-suited for scientific innovation data.
3) Companies need an enterprise approach to manage scientific experimentation and data to facilitate collaboration and learning from past work, in order to accelerate innovation and the commercialization process.
