- 3. การใช้ a / an 1.ใช้ a นำหน้ำคำนำมนับได้ เอกพจน์ ขึ้นต้นด้วยพยัญชนะและมีควำมหมำย ทั่วไปในควำมหมำย หนึ่ง โดยไม่ต้องกำรเน้นจำนวน เช่น a boy, a girl, a dog, a cat, a pen, a book, a banana, a mango - I give a pen. ( ฉันให้ปากกา 1 ด้าม ) - She eats a banana. ( หล่อนกินกล้วย 1 ผล ) - He is a boy. (เขาเป็นเด็กผู้ชาย ) *** ถ้าคานามนับได้เอกพจน์ นั้นขึ้นต้นด้วยสระ แต่ว่าออกเสียง เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้ใช้a เช่น a uniform, a university, aEuropean, a eucalyptus ( ต้นยูคาลิบตัส ), a utensil, a union, a useful, a unit
- 4. 2. ใช้ an นำหน้ำคำนำมนับได้ เอกพจน์ขึ้นต้นด้วยสระ ( a e i o u ) และมีควำมหมำยทั่วไป เช่น an apple, an orange, an egg, an ox, an umbrella, an eraser - I want to buy an egg. ( ฉันต้องการซื้อไข่ 1 ฟอง ) - She has an umbrella. ( หล่อนมีร่ม 1 คัน ) - A bird eats an apple. ( นก 1 ตัวกินแอปเปิ้ล 1 ผล ) *** ถ้าคานามนั้นขึ้นต้นด้วยพยัญชนะ แต่ออกเสียงเป็นสระหรือมี adjective ที่ขึ้นต้น ด้วยสระมาขยายข้างหน้านามนั้นให้ใช้an เช่น - ออกเสียงเป็นสระ เช่น an hour, an heir, an honor - มีคุณศัพท์ ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยสระ เช่น an important person *** ถ้าคานามนับได้เอกพจน์ นั้นมีคุณศัพท์นาหน้าขยาย ให้ดูดังนี้ - หากคาคุณศัพท์ นั้นขึ้นต้นด้วยเสียงพยัญชนะก็ให้ใช้ a เช่น a sweet orange, a big umbrella - หากขึ้นต้นด้วย เสียงสระให้ใช้ an เช่น an old city, an ugly woman เป็นต้น
- 5. การใช้ some และ any ทั้ง some และ any มีความหมายว่า "บ้าง" แต่ใช้แตกต่างกันดังนี้ 1. some ใช้กับประโยคบอกเล่า ใช้ได้ทั้งกับนามนับได้พหูพจน์และนามนับไม่ได้เช่น - I have some pens. (ฉันมีปากกาบ้าง) - John wants some water. (จอห์น ต้องการน้าบ้าง) - There are some books on the table. (มีหนังสืออยู่บนโต๊ะบ้าง) - There is some sugar in the bowl. (มีน้าตาลทรายอยู่ในชามบ้าง)
- 6. 2. any 2.1 ใช้กับประโยคปฏิเสธ ใช้ได้ทั้งกับนามนับได้พหูพจน์และนามนับไม่ได้ แต่ความหมายจะเปลี่ยนเป็น "ไม่ ______ เลย" เช่น - I don't have any pens. (ฉันไม่มีปากกาเลยสักด้าม) - John doesn't want any water. (จอห์นไม่ต้องการน้าเลย) - There aren't any pencils under the table. (ไม่มีดินสออยู่ใต้โต๊ะเลยสักแท่ง) - There isn't any tea in the cup. (ไม่มีน้าชาอยู่ในถ้วยเลย) 2.2 ใช้กับประโยคคาถาม ใช้ได้ทั้งกับนามนับได้และนามนับไม่ได้แต่ความหมายจะเปลี่ยนเป็น "_______ บ้างไหม" เช่น -Do you have any pens? (คุณมีปากกาบ้างไหม) -Does John want any water? (จอห์น ต้องการน้าบ้างไหม) -Are there any books in the schoolbag? (มีหนังสืออยู่ในกระเป๋าเรียนบ้างไหม) -Is there any coffee in the cup? (มีกาแฟอยู่ในถ้วยบ้างไหม)
