Yaina is the founder of NuHi Training a social enterprise company set up in 2010 and run by people with personal experience of addiction, treatment and recovery. NuHi designs and delivers bespoke training for the wider community.
Yaina recovered from fifteen years of heroin addiction and a five year methadone treatment programme back in 1989. Her working career now spans 25 years working within the housing, health, and social care sectors. Her passion is the empowerment of disadvantaged individuals and groups; her work involves mentoring and support for people with complex needs including drug, alcohol and mental health issues, offending behaviour and prostitution.
