Bill Sample, a Philadelphia police officer, started the foundation after working with a childrens hospital for many years. Since 1976, Sunshine Foundation has made over 34,000 dreams become reality. Common dreams are requests for a personal computer, shopping spree, or meeting a favorite celebrity or sports star The most popular dream is: visiting the Central Florida theme parks with accomodations at our Dream Village. Nestled in a fairy-tale setting only a few miles from the Central Florida attractions, the 22-acre Dream Village is a peaceful but magical oasis for families to escape hospitals, treatments and doctors. Our goal is to let the children and their families just have fun and forget they are sick, even if its just for a short period of time. - 7. Amenities at the Dream Village: all handicap and special needs accessible. Sunshine Foundation
- 8. The Sunshine Foundation flies the child, parents and siblings to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village, with no cost whatsoever to the family. Sunshine Foundation pays for airfare, transportation, lodging, meals and tickets to the attractions: Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and/or Universal Studios. Sunshine Foundation
