Surrounded by mountains and forests, Bai-mi Clog Village has a history of making Japanese clogs. There is a well-constructed clog museum to demonstrate how they make the clog, and to introduce the culture of the clog. After interviewing the local residents, our team found out these problems:
1. lack of environmental resources
2. undevelopment transportation to the area
Our goal is to take advantage of the unique geographical
characteristics of Bai-mi to provide tourists an extraordinary
experience. The development will celebrate the diversity of the experiences but won’t cause damage to the cultural heritage.

This document summarizes a presentation given by Chih-Hao Tsai on user experience design. It discusses how user experience design draws from fields like cognitive psychology, education psychology, and consumer behavior research. It argues for an integrated interdisciplinary approach that places users' needs, behaviors, and experiences at the center. Some obstacles to this approach are insufficient interdisciplinary training and a tendency to rely on old habits rather than questioning problems and thinking more broadly about context. The presentation encourages starting learning, questioning, understanding context, and getting connected to continue advancing user experience design.

The writing system is the most important invention in human history. The processes of reading, therefore, can be viewed as the user experience of written text. In this talk, I briefly introduce the processes of reading within the context of user experience design.
Academic research usually takes place in well-controlled environment. Innovation, in contract, almost always occurs in real context. To transform basic knowledge into power to innovate, researchers must be able to think within real context. (Invited talk at the 19th Annual Meeting of the Ergonomics Society of Taiwan, 2012-03-24.)
