ABOUT ADSPARX DAI CLOUD
Introduction
AdSparx Cloud DAI is a Cloud Dynamic Ad Insertion Platform that lets you monetize live
video streams to any device by dynamically inserting VAST compliant, user-targeted, in-
stream Video Ads. AdSparx Cloud DAI enables high quality TV-like viewing experience
with smooth switching between video content and advertisement, similar to that of
broadcast or cable television.
You don’t have to purchase or maintain expensive proprietary hardware, or install or run
software locally. And moreover, it works seamlessly with Wowza Streaming Cloud!
The Wowza Streaming Cloud service allows you to distribute live video to multiscreen
devices scaling automatically to accommodate audiences of any size, anywhere.
AdSparx Cloud is available at www.adsparxcloud.com or http://cloud.adsparx.co. The
complete features of the platform can be availed by simply registering on the above
portal and following the step-by-step on-boarding steps detailed here and on the portal.
This guide gets you started and enables dynamic pre and mid rolls within minutes. Using
a simple but powerful browser based interface, AdSparx Cloud DAI platform extends the
simplicity of Wowza to include monetization and integrates into programmatic Ad Spot
buying platforms.
Using AdSparx DAI,
? You can use any VAST compliant demand platform of your choice or use the Ad
platforms already available on AdSparx platform
? You can also configure your own Ad Campaigns - whether in-house or direct sold
Ads from the web interface.
? All the Advertisements will enable multi-bit rate streaming automatically without
any additional work from you.
? AdSparx also enables on-demand reporting and analytics interface, which can
help you, make advanced decisions with respect to monetization.
While dynamically inserting Ads as pre and mid rolls, AdSparx retains the high quality
experience of broadcast TV with seamless switching between Ads and content in the
stream. Ad-blockers on devices do NOT block out your Ads using AdSparx’s Server-Side
Ad Insertion platform. Catch up TV feature can also be configured on AdSparx DAI cloud
using the same publisher login, by simply checking the “Enable Recording” option.

In order to use AdSparx Cloud for Ad Monetization, you need to first have your Wowza
Cloud account configured.

GETTING STARTED ON ADSPARX DAI CLOUD
Register yourself as a Publisher
Follow the below steps to get started:
? Visit www.adsparxcloud.com on your computer browser
? If you are a new user, click on the sign-up option on the portal or simply login
with your credentials
? In the step 2, you need to provide the Wowza HLS URL available in the wowza
cloud configuration
? For this,
a. Login to your Wowza
Cloud Account
b. Fetch the HLS URL from
stream source settings
under the title “Direct Playback URLs”
c. Copy this URL in AdSparx registration Step 2
“Add Stream”
d. You can add more streams later as well,
after you complete the registration process
Connect your Wowza Cloud to AdSparx
? Wowza Cloud is connected to AdSparx DAI cloud by entering Wowza Playback
URLs into AdSparx Streams Configuration
? AdSparx DAI system auto-generates Ad-inserted URL that should be configured
to be delivered to your playback device
Indicating Ad Markers to AdSparx DAI System
In order to inform AdSparx DAI system of Ad breaks in the video stream, AdSparx
recommends use of standard Ad slates to indicate beginning and end of Ad markers. The
Ad Slate is to be inserted at the point of production, before the streams are inserted in
Wowza Cloud.

Following are the steps:
? The publisher, when he wishes to insert Ad breaks, inserts the Ad slate for a
duration of 500 milliseconds.
? This Ad Slate indicates to AdSparx system the “start of the Ad break”.
? At the end of the Ad slate indicating “start of the Ad break”, you may resume the
video stream.
? For AdSparx, this is an indicator that AdSparx replaces the content following the
Ad slate, till the “end of Ad break” indicator is detected by the system
? When the publisher wishes to end the Ad break and resume the video content,
he inserts the same Ad slate again, indicating the “end of Ad break”.
? AdSparx detects this “end of Ad break” indicator and stops Ad insertion
immediately. Even if this “end of Ad break” indicator appears in the middle of an
Ad, the system obeys the “end of Ad break” command, stops the Ad insertion
immediately and resumes the live video stream
VAST SDK Integration for VAST Compliance
AdSparx provides VAST SDK for Multiscreen devices. Integrating this SDK with client
applications, makes pre and mid roll Ads inserted by AdSparx Server-side system VAST
compliant.

Using AdSparx Workflow UI to control Ad Insertion features
Using the DASHBOARD
? After logging in, the publisher lands on
DASHBOARD page. The DASHBOARD page
provides a quick overview of
o The total Ads inserted
o Revenue earned
o Top campaigns and content
? Users can get data instantaneously for
varying periods – today, yesterday, last week
and last month. Custom dates can be defined by choosing appropriate start and
end date
Configuring Content
Under the content’s section, users can add additional Live streams configured in Wowza
System. Users can also define content properties – enable pre and mid rolls, define
minimum CPM that they expect from Ad networks etc.

Follow the below steps to add or edit content streams
? Go to the content section by clicking its icon on the left options. This will take you
to the contents home page.
? On the content home page, the entire defined content in the system can be
observed.
Create Live Stream
? Click on “Create Content” to configure a new live stream
? Enter the details for channel as per the fields requested
? Click on “Add Stream” to configure a new stream for the live stream
? Add Wowza Playback HLS URL to “Source URL”. Fill other details and save the
stream
Ad Monetization
? Click on “Campaigns” icon on the left menu options
? You can make use of Ad campaigns that are configured automatically. These
campaigns will serve Ad campaigns as per targeting pre-defined in the system.
? The publishers can create their own Ad campaigns. To do so, click on “create
campaigns” to initiate this process.
? Campaign creation is a 5-step process. Each step has certain fields to be filled.
? The campaigns can be Direct Sold or In-house and the video creative for the
same can be uploaded in the system.
? The publisher can also define a VAST compliant campaign. In such a case, the
publisher needs to define the VAST URL in Step 5.
Reports and Analytics
? AdSparx provides comprehensive reports providing VAST impression reports.
These VAST impression reports provide the following information:
a. Daily, weekly, monthly distribution reports
b. Ad requests and impressions rendered reports
c. Quartile reporting
? AdSparx provides impression reports, revenue reports across geographies,
devices AdSparx
? AdSparx provides content-wise reports, across geographies, devices, etc
