Image processing techniques can be used for face recognition applications. The process involves decomposing face images into subbands using discrete wavelet transform. The mid-frequency subband is selected and principal component analysis is applied to extract representational bases. These bases are stored for training images and used to translate probe images into representations which are classified to identify faces by matching with training representations. This approach segments discriminatory facial features to recognize identities despite variations in illumination, pose, expression and other factors.
The document discusses computer vision with deep learning. It provides an overview of convolutional neural networks and their use in computer vision applications like image classification and object detection. Specifically, it discusses how CNNs use convolutional layers to learn visual features from images and provide examples of CNNs being used for pipeline defect classification and filler cap quality control.
Controlling Wheelchair Using Electroencephalogram(EEG)Shazid Reaj
?
This presentation discusses controlling a wheelchair using electroencephalography (EEG) signals from the brain. The methodology involves collecting EEG data from nine subjects performing five mental tasks, extracting features from the EEG data using wavelet packet transform, and classifying the tasks using a radial basis function neural network. The classified mental tasks are then mapped to control directions for a wheelchair prototype. Experimental results showed 100% accuracy in classifying the five mental tasks of movement imagination, arithmetic tasks, geometric figure rotation, and relaxation. This BCI system has potential applications for assisting people with disabilities to control wheelchairs and other devices.
Brain tumor classification using artificial neural network on mri imageseSAT Journals
?
Abstract
In this paper, an attempt has been made to summarize the multi-resolution transformation and the different classifiers useful to
analyze the brain tumor using MRI. X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound etc. are different techniques used to scan brain tumor images.
Radiologist prefers MRI to get detail information about tumor to help him diagnoses. In this paper we have used MRI of brain
tumor for analysis. We have used Digital image processing tool for detection of the tumor. The identification, detection and
classification of brain tumor have been done by extracting features from MRI with the help of wavelet transformation. The MRI of
brain tumor is classified into two categories normal and abnormal brain. In this work Digital image processing has been used as
a tool for getting clear and exact details about tumor in earlier stages. This helps the physicians and practitioners for diagnoses.
Key word – Brain tumor, Wavelet transform, segmentation.
This document discusses Industrie 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution bringing connectivity and intelligence to manufacturing through technologies like the Internet of Things. Key concepts are connecting physical devices to networks and machines interacting with each other to enable mass customization. This transformation integrates horizontal and vertical networking in factories. Six design principles are outlined: interoperability, virtualization, decentralization, real-time capability, service orientation, and modularity. Diagrams show examples of smart factories and supply chains enabled by Industrie 4.0.

The document discusses the key components of Industry 4.0, which aims to create a new phase of value chain organization through advanced manufacturing technologies. The three main components are horizontal integration between corporations, vertical integration of factory subsystems, and end-to-end digital integration across the product lifecycle. Horizontal integration allows information and materials to flow between cooperating corporations, while vertical integration creates flexible manufacturing systems through integration of sensors, controls and other subsystems. End-to-end engineering integration digitally connects all stages from design to recycling to enable customized product development.
This document discusses digital twin technology. It defines a digital twin as a virtual representation of a physical object that can accurately mimic the performance of the physical object. The document outlines the characteristics, architecture, features, advantages, and applications of digital twins. Digital twins are used across industries like manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, and smart cities to improve design, monitoring, predictive maintenance, and more. The success of digital twins depends on connectivity to real-time data from physical objects and sensors.
Fuzzy Control System for Smart Home ControlNikAqilah2
?
This document proposes a fuzzy control system for smart home applications. The system would allow users to control home appliances like lights, air conditioning, and kitchen appliances remotely using a mobile application. It would use a Raspberry Pi as the central controller connected to sensors and devices. The system would employ fuzzy logic and communicate over WiFi to allow users to control devices from their phones. The goals of the project are to design and implement a smart home system that can control appliances anywhere and anytime to help people with disabilities.
Launching in April 2016, Smart Manufacturing will focus on advanced manufacturing technologies and tools that are driven or enhanced by integrated information technology.
The document discusses Internet of Things (IoT) concepts including embedded systems, sensors and actuators, microcontrollers and applications, and networks, protocols, and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). The key aspects of IoT are connecting everyday objects to collect and share data over the Internet or other networks.
Artificial intelligence is increasingly impacting today's society. The document discusses the history and current state of AI, how it is informed by nature, and how it currently impacts areas like robotics, the military, business, healthcare and more. The future of AI is uncertain but it may help solve major problems while also raising issues about job loss and whether advanced AI could ever pose a risk to humanity. Overall AI is seen as something that can make processes faster, more efficient and better, but its long term societal effects remain unclear.

5 Reasons Why Healthcare Data is Unique and Difficult to MeasureHealth Catalyst
?
Healthcare data is not linear. It is a complex, diverse beast unlike the data of any other industry. There are five ways in particular that make healthcare data unique:
1. Much of the data is in multiple places.
2. The data is structured and unstructured.
3. It has inconsistent and variable definitions; evidence-based practice and new research is coming out every day. 4. The data is complex.
5. Changing regulatory requirements.
The answer for this unpredictability and complexity is the agility of a late-binding Data Warehouse.
