The student worked with others to design a set for a play that consisted of a taxi rank and shop. They ensured different elements of the set worked together by selecting coordinating colors and a worn, faded appearance. For the shop canopy, they stained the fabric with mud and tea to look old. They chose colors like green, blue, yellow and red for both the canopy and interior of the shop. When painting and stocking the shop, they selected slightly faded and matte colors and recycled products mentioned in the script, like Pepsi cans, to match the run-down geographical and social context of the play.
