- 8. Sewing Tools are instruments that aid in accom plishing a sewing task. These are those which dont require the use of electricity. These are used man ually or by hand.
- 9. Sewing equipment is needed for sewing which aid in construction of garments of good quality and appearance. These ar e those which require the use of el ectricity such as the sewing machi ne.
- 10. Sewing Kit is a small package containing ite ms, such as threads, pins, needle s, etc. that you need to sew somet hing.

- 12. Measuring tools are instruments used for obtaining q uantities, dimension or forces of real world objects. They are also tools us ed to differentiate distances on partic ular materials or objects.
- 13. 1. Tape Measure It is also known as tapel ine. It is made of non- stretchable strip use d in taking body meas urements. It measures 150 centim eters in the front side and 60 inches on the other side.
- 14. 2. Seam gauge It is a small ruler with a sliding guide and is about six inches long, used t o measure small hem areas and sh ort distances like hem folds, pleats, seam allowance, buttonholes, and tucks.
- 15. 3. Ruler This is the most common measuring device usually 12 inches long. It is used for general marking. It aids in connecting lines.
- 16. 4. Yardstick It is used for general marking and f or measuring fabric grainline when l aying out the pattern. This is a one- meter long wooden stick and is use d to measure fabric length by yard or meter.
- 17. Cutting Tools are cutting implements- tools for cutti ng. These are instruments that serve well if properly maintained. They sho uld not be used for other household t ask. They must be sharpened regularly an d the joints are oiled occasionally for better use. In other words, they shoul d be kept in good working order for p eriodic sharpening.

- 22. c. Scalloping shears is a tool that has scallop blades used to c ut parts of garments with series of uniform scallops.
- 23. 2. Trimming Scissors These are 3-4 inches long used f or trimmings, clipping threads and snipping slashes.
- 24. 3. Buttonhole scissors These are intended for making b uttonholes.
- 25. 4. Seam ripper This tool is intended for cutting of f or ripping out stitches from sea m either as a result of an error or during alterations.
- 26. 5. Embroidery scissors It is a sharp pointed scissors usually 4-5 inches long used in c utting fine delicate cloth and thre ad in embroidery work.
- 27. 6. Thread Clippers It is a handy little spring loaded c utting tool that allows for the snipping of thre ads.
- 28. 7. Rotary Cutter and Mat It works like a pizza cutter an d can be used by left or right han ded sewers. It works on a cutting mat to protect the blade and the cutting surface.
