The document provides an overview of the Shingo Model and Institute. It discusses the purpose and mission of shaping cultures of organizational and operational excellence through research, education, assessment and recognition. A brief history is given of the Shingo Prize since 1988. Recent recipients are listed from 2019 to 2015. It was noticed that initial gains from improvement efforts often saw swift decline due to a lack of focus on culture. The three insights of organizational excellence and the guiding principles across people, process and purpose are outlined. Systems, behaviors and results are interconnected. The six Shingo courses are designed to inform behaviors through principles.
This document discusses building an operational excellence culture through Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles at P&G. It provides an overview of IWS, including that it is evolutionary and focuses on continuous learning. IWS progresses through four phases: foundation, operational stability, end-to-end stability, and agility. The Boryspil plant in Ukraine is highlighted as an example of a phase four site. The document emphasizes engaging site leaders everyday and moving from relying on heroes to everyone embracing continuous improvement. It also stresses eliminating losses through connecting all capabilities and using standards to increase speed.
