How do i portray my jazz fans ?

I believe I portrayed my audience to be an
      enthusiastic audience who support there
genre of music full heartedly, and are willing to
support the genre of music as is a not
commercial and does not get as many publicity
      as other genres.
How do i portray my jazz fans ? Part 2
I tried to portray my fans as being elegant and
smart hence the reason, I made my theme
black and white, black and white is the colour
you would use to address someone in a formal
manor, and also the colour you would dress up
      to a sophisticated event.
How do i portray my jazz fans ? Part 3
Jazz listeners are willing to pay money to see
there artist perform live and dress up smart.
jazz fans lifestyle is evolved around jazz and
influence many of their lifes styles. The best
way to experience Jazz is life and tickets are
not cheap, and it usually a night out where
there will be other prices included and to the
average person this may be difficult to afford.
Jazz Listeners Ethnicity groups
Afro-Caribbean's , Afro Americans is where
Jazz began and many of these ethnic
background still come and support there music,
      a stereotypical Jazz costume would be;
Jazz Listeners Ethnicity groups Part 2
The Jazz audience simulates what the
performers would wear, so at a jazz night you
would expect suits, ties and hats and the
women would also dress elegantly with dresses.
In my magazine I tried to portray this element
with a twist of youthfulness, I made my theme
black and white however, I used younger
models due to me being in a college (Lack of
older models ). This linked in well with
features in the magazine as, I'm supporting the
developmental stages of young artist through
    highlighting the career.
How Does My Black & White Theme
Relate To the audience
By making my colour theme black and white and
using different types of mise en scene such as
props instruments (on my front cover).
This is to help set a tone throughout the
magazine and to relate to my audience, which I
used to further indicate my magazine as being
   a formal magazine
Feed Back on How have I represented
Jazz fans
How have I represented Jazz fans;
By representing Jazz, you are able to attract
Jazz fans. It is quite formal; this would be
    appreciated by the audience.

This feedback suggest I connected well with my
audience as my magazine had an formal layout
Is My portrayal positive or negative or
both
I had a few constructive feedbacks;
Why did you use a white model instead of a black
model
I was looking for the ideal jazz look and my
school was limited however, I agree the model I
used does not fit the stereotypical American
jazz artist. I do strongly believe we have moved
up in time and jazz is open to talent from
anywhere in the globe and that is one of the
positive messages Im trying to portray about
    Jazz.
.
Is My portrayal positive or negative or
both
Why did you only use male artist
Jazz is gender non- specific in this issue he was
my main focus, in future issues I would look to
bring in female artist, Im a jazz listener and
females artist are just as respected as men. I do
agree I made a fundamental error and should
    have used a female model.
When looking to improve my magazine I would
add in a female model. My magazine may come
across a bit male dominant and I believe thats
a negative way of portraying jazz and fans.
Audience Feed back
My main cover photo is a white English male is
this the right ethnic group to represent jazz?
I'm not very aware of your target audience,
however I thought that Jazz artists generally
were of afro/Caribbean descent, at least
historically. However you do have another
model fitting this ethnicity so this is quite
representative, and the fact that you used a
white male may reflect the contemporary
nature of this magazine. - Yusuf Akhoon
How did I find my research

Even at his most daring, Coltrane could still command a fervent
audience response. Listen to the live version of A Love Supreme,
recorded in 1965. At the conclusion of the suite, the audience applauds
enthusiastically and is demonstratively upset that there is not more to
follow.
In this extract they speak about how enthusiastic the audience is, when doing
research about the audience I found this useful as I based my masthead on
John Coltrane and this backs up my point of how influential he was in the jazz
scene, and also gives me an idea of way a Jazz crowd behaves.
Research Part 2
In this extract from online they
talk about the jazz audience they
                                            say;

                                            Many people today argue that
jazz is dead. Many people, who
                                            actively perform, listen to or
                                            support jazz scoff at this
notion. But there is no denying
that if not dead, the music that
                                            can be broadly considered
I used this information to help target jazz occupies a far-removed,
my audience as Im targeting a dual niche area in the current
audience. I was careful as Im not trying landscape of popular art in
to persuade people into listening to Jazz
                                            America.
is for people who listen to Jazz and
understand the culture behind Jazz
from the AGES 16 + and 21+ Jazz is
not commercial hence the reason, there
audiences may come across more
sophisticated or intelligent
