This is a Photo Story about the Chichester Literary Quiz for Year 7 and 8 children on 10 March 2016. It was held at Chichester College. Featured authors were Ali Sparkes (Carjacked), Jamie Thomson (Dark Lord: Teenage Years), Kathryn Evans (More of Me) and me, Candy Gourlay (Shine). It was a delicious experience. Congratulations to overall winner Chichester High School. Thank you to Peter Bone, School Library Service Manager of Portsmouth, Colin Telford of the Hayling Island Bookshop, and the teachers and librarians who made it wonderful event. - 8. Thats not Jeff Norton, author of METAWARS
- 10. But the show must go on.
- 11. Debut author Kathryn Evans (MORE OF ME) is allowed to join the author team.
- 12. Authors start by signing a gazillion certificates, petitions, injunctions, and restraining orders.
- 13. Jamie discovers that Ali is avoiding wheat and sugar and promptly offers her biscuits.

- 15. Quizmaster: No notebooks or phones on the table! Authors: What about a raven? QM: Oh. Okay. Authors: What about a small coffin filled with elf ears and the leg bone of a shrunken man? QM: Right.
- 16. At last, the quiz begins. Its a show down between the best readers
- 17. Of the best schools in Chichester
- 22. The children just keep winning.
- 23. But its a close run thing!
- 24. Meanwhile, the authors struggle to answer questions about their own books. Again.
- 26. try on elf ears
- 27. take selfies
- 28. and recruit minions.
- 29. The Dark Lord is pleased by the enthusiastic response.
- 33. And the overall winner is Chichester High School!
- 34. Librarians and authors enjoy some levity
- 35. Until the Dark Lord gets a little too excited.
- 36. The librarians banish him to the car park where he challenges the debut author to a duel.
- 38. But she turns out to be a skilled swordswoman and they decide to fight another day.
