Alan Turing arguably wrote the first paper on formal methods 75 years ago. Since then, there have been claims and counterclaims about formal methods. Tool development has been slow but aided by Moores Law with the increasing power of computers. Although formal methods are not widespread in practical usage at a heavyweight level, their influence as crept into software engineering practice to the extent that they are no longer necessarily called formal methods in their use. In addition, in areas where safety and security are important, with the increasing use of computers in such applications, formal methods are a viable way to improve the reliability of such software-based systems. Their use in hardware where a mistake can be very costly is also important. This talk explores the journey of formal methods to the present day and speculates on future directions.

- 3. Zinio Open your Internet browser on your device and visit waukeganpl.org/library-at- home/online-resources Tap the link for Zinio at the bottom.
- 4. Zinio Tap Create New Account.
- 5. Zinio Enter your name and email address, and choose a password. Tap Create Account.
- 6. Zinio Now, open the app store and download the free Zinio for Libraries app.
- 7. Zinio Once the app has downloaded, log in with your Zinio account.
- 8. Zinio Tap Checkout magazines to access the librarys collection. This will automatically open in your Internet browser.
- 9. Zinio Tap on the cover of a magazine youd like to read, then tap Checkout.
- 10. Zinio If you are not logged into your Zinio account, you will be prompted to enter your login information.
- 11. Zinio Once the title has been checked out, you can choose to keep browsing or start reading in your Internet browser.
- 12. Zinio You can also read your checked out magazines offline in the Zinio app. If your magazine does not show up in your library, tap the Settings icon in the top left corner. Tap Refresh Library and close out of the menu. Your magazine should show up automatically.
- 13. Zinio Tap the cover of the magazine to begin reading in the app. Swipe left or right to turn the pages. Tap the center of the screen to open reading settings, such as thumbnail views, table of contents, or saved bookmarks.
- 14. Zinio To delete a magazine in the Zinio app, tap and hold the cover of the magazine. Tap the red X to delete the title.
- 15. Zinio To delete a magazine using your Internet browser, access the librarys collection and sign in to your Zinio account. Tap My Collection to view your checked out titles. Tap the trash can icon to delete the title.
- 16. General Information Subscribe to as many magazines as you like from Zinio if the library holds a subscription for it, you can read it for free! Magazines from Zinio do not expire, and they do not accrue overdue fines. Only patrons with Waukegan Public Library cards can subscribe to magazines from Zinio. Do you want a magazine to which the library does not currently subscribe? Suggest it to a librarian in person, online or by phone.
