Michell Acala, a third year student at Kiling National High School, noticed that students were improperly disposing of garbage by not separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. To address this issue and help reduce pollution and global warming, she created a project to educate fellow students on proper waste management. Her goal was to teach waste segregation.
She placed labeled sacks around the school for different waste types. An orientation was held to instruct students. As a result, students began properly separating waste into the correct sacks. This helped lessen environmental issues by reducing mixed waste. Both waste and the local environment were positively impacted by the student-led initiative.Think Green Project

The Think Green project aims to create environmentally conscious neighborhoods in Lagos through educating young people. It will target students at Ladi Lake Primary School, sensitizing them to environmental issues affecting Lagos through activities like picture aids, information pamphlets, and an Eco-Youngsters club over 8 weeks. The project aims to encourage sustainable practices and help address the growing environmental problems facing Lagos communities.Zilnon documentary

- 2. 1.FEEL Stage(11th - 17th August 2010). The students felt that they needed to work on waste Management as waste was observed to be the biggest problem affecting them and the surrounding/communities around the school. They took the conviction that they will be drivers for change to reduce waste in order to make surrounding clean and healthy to live in.
- 3. 2.IMAGINE Stage (18th -24th August 2010). In the second stage of IMAGINE, they imagined having a clean and safe surrounding and having the waste reduced. And for those waste that were inevitable from generation, habits for proper disposal were thought of and shared for implementation.
- 4. 3.DO Stage (25th August -1st September 2010). The student discussed to carry out the following activities. (a).Create awareness about waste management and junk food. - 6. 4.SHARING Stage To fulfill the sharing stage, the student shared the idea of waste management through documentation like the picture profiling, acting out skit with a song they composed entitled the solidiers for Enviroment by showing a small clip of the movie that was filmed during the process of the program. As a part of sharing, the action plan for reducing and managing waste was shared by the DFC students in one of the assemblies in the school. For continuation of the activities charted and in order to sustain in the goals and aspiration of the DFC contest, the school ensured that the rest of the student will cooperate with the DFC in order to keep school garbage free and become pioneer school in waste reduction and management.
